Anyone do any backpacking on here?(sleeping bags)

Rei.com has one hell of a sale going on and I'm planning on getting a kit together only problem is Sleeping bags, I'm about as clueless as clueless could be and need some help picking one out.

So anyway, the thought is 1, quality of the bag 2, the size of it. because it's for backpacking I need it as small as possible without having to worry about freezing my nuts off. with that being said though most of my camping will happen in the summer time and temp will not be that big of a deal.

so here are my choices

1, http://www.rei.com/product/812622/alps-mountaineering-desert-pine-20-sleeping-bag-regular-special-buy

it seems like the winner, it's one of the smaller ones, it's cheaper and seems to have pretty good temp stats, but it's also a bit heavier

2, http://www.rei.com/product/780521/rei-zephyr-20-sleeping-bag-long-09-special-buy

the best all around bag, a good bit more expensive but it beats all other bags in every category

3, http://www.rei.com/product/815023/big-agnes-silver-creek-30-sleeping-bag-regular-special-buy

it's the Cheapest, the lower temp limit isn't as good and it packs bigger

Dependsd on when you are BPing. I use a 20 degree rated and never have a problem winter or summer. I wouldnt go lower than that unless you plan on doing alot of winter backpacking. Get you one that can fit in a compression bag and can be compressed small.

I also use a 20 degree bag. I hike a lot in the Smokies and temps can fall pretty quick up there.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
