I also went to the Bengals board to see how they felt about it. No surprises really. They are looking at it thru Bengal colored glasses, just as our fans look at it thru Panther blue. There is some predictable debating going on. If you don't care then don't read it. boards.bengals.com/showthread.php?t=89319 Sorry, the hyperlink option on my phone is not displaying.

Cam Newton's stats for the month of October:

1592 total yards, 12 TD's, 5 INT's.

Andy Dalton's stats for the month of October:

923 total yards, 6 TD's, 5 INT's.

I understand it's "cool" to be the hipster who see things "objectively" but anyone who looks at the two's performance in comparison to each can see Cam wins and it ain't even close, and you're either an imbecile or a Bengals fan if you think otherwise. Whether the NFL was just trying to make sure there wasn't a monopoly on the award to keep it interesting, or they were just trying to make sure Dalton got recognized too (which is like playing the fat kid on your JV team with 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter just so you can tell the district that you are following their obligations to play everyone) I don't know, but noone can look at this and say it was the right choice.

The numbers are skewed here a bit by the fact the Panthers played 5 games in October to the Bengals 4.

More importantly Dalton went a vert impressive 4-0 in October to Cam's 1-4.

It's no great conspiracy against Cam and is basically meaningless long term.

I'd still take Cam over Dalton 24/7.

Alright, so take away 300 yards a couple TD's and an INT and, oh look, what do we find...Cam still blows Dalton out of the water. I also wasn't aware this was a team award.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy against Cam. I'm saying it's the NFL coddling someone for the sake of diversity.

"Well, Cam has been impressive, but he just won it last month, and Dalton has been really impressive too, it'd be a shame for Dalton to go unrecognized..I say give it to him."

    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
    • I mean there is relevance to that. But I think much of it has to do with the fact that he is clearly likeable. But does that translate to a coach taking his position to the next level like those that have had staying power for many years like Spoelstra? And not for nothing but does how much someone is liked even matter? Across leagues with the Panthers Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney were universally well liked by players. Dave Canales is very well liked. I say you are what your record says. And the record says you got your ass handed to you by a fellow expansion team in the Magic in a game that was over at halftime and that same team went toe to toe with our nemesis who has been handing us L's for over a year now. And if Bam doesn't get his leg swept by LaMelo do we even get past the Heat? Again. It just all boils down to personal standards. I think newer and younger fans will love this. I just want to actually win a real playoff game fam 🤷‍♂️
