COD: Modern Warfare 3 ~ Begins 12:00 am, 11.08.2011

Put in a good 4-5 hours tonight.

Game is better than Black Ops. Runs super fast and smooth. Most of the maps seem ok but a lot are too small and/or the spawns are also pretty bad again on this game. Not sure why it's impossible for them to fix this so far in, but whatever.

Typical host crap also, people with host advantage (xbox 360) is clear as day. CoD picking someone that has crap bandwidth and dragging you down, still happening. I know it's expensive but they make enough on this game to set up dedicated servers. If BF3 can do it (and handle way more stuff going on than a CoD game) it's BS that Activision can't do it.

I'm a bit disappointed in the map variety. They all feel smooshed together. I don't know why they can't understand that people want an even mix of mid/long range maps and small maps. It's one extreme or the other on CoD games.

Quickscoping is back to ridiculous levels, that sucks.

It's a great game for straight up TDM, but for objectives BF3 kills MW3, hands down.

MW3 has a place on my shelf, and I like it so far, but to me BF3 just offers more variety.

IW isn't IW without the original team, which it isn't. lol It's a whole new team basically for IW and a new studio for this.

It's like MW2, it's garbage. Quick scope, crappy maps...ext. All the problems from the last few COD games. The action is fast paced though, I like the SP for what it is. B3 is a far superior game if you ask me. They are different enough to own both though.

No the shotguns are primary. IMO this is the worst set of maps of any cod games so far. They are all virtually the same size with no variation except for scenery. They did away with anything to help campers, which is good, but the only way to snipe seems to be quickscoping, which is lame to say the least. The streak systems seem ok, I like how you can gain perks as killstreaks.

The maps are horrible I can't stress it enough. They need to come out with a free map pack asap, because they are all a clusterfug

I'm more of a single player guy, and have finished the campaign. I won't give my thoughts on that so I don't spoil anything for anyone, but I did enjoy it.

Multiplayer is a HUGE step up over MW2. It's so much easier to play with skill. In MW2's multiplayer it did not matter how talented you were, there was so much random crap blowing up and spawn points right behind you that you were dead within seconds of spawning. You can actually survive and stalk people around.

Spec Ops is fun. The missions have been fun. Survival mode isn't as Nazi Zombies, at least not so far, but I've only done 4 or 5 matches on a couple of maps-and there are a bunch, just to clarify.

Overall, MW3 is well worth the hype. I'll review the SP once the games been out a while if anyone's interested. (aka....this thread is still going)

I'm the same way. I always play the campaign before hopping on the Multiplayer.

I loved the campaign.

I hate the Multiplayer. It's the same problems. Over-powered guns, being able to shoot through walls and then sometimes not. Being killed and watching the kill cam and you're not there. And the maps are pretty damn awful. Way too many buildings and not enough open areas. Really not enjoying it at all.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
