Why Did We Get Rid Of Kasay?

Kasay has made more FGs than Mare has attempted. The more you kick, the more opportunity for misses you have but when you look at the big picture Kasay still is better.

Kasay was 4/5 for field goals making 3 from 40+ yards and 1 from 50+ yard. The other was just a game-winning field goal.

I never liked this move. If for nothing else, I feel a team should always show loyalty towards core players. Showing loyalty to your players, you get loyalty from your players and when you get that; they play harder for you.

I'm glad Kasay is with a winning team at least.

He is a good man. He deserved better IMHO.

If anything get rid of Baker's sorry ass and do what another poster said, draft a punter who can also kickoff.

1. He can't kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs.

2. No one's wasting a roster spot on an extra kicker.

3. If Kasay was the only kicker on the team, there's no telling how many kickoffs would have been returned for kickoffs so far this season since he can't kick it out of bounds and save the Panthers' Special Teams from themselves.

bottom line is special teams - all aspects - need to change.

it is an excellent point.. and any smart team would have done the same.. unfortunately, Mare is an exact mirror of this team at the moment.. the contract he was given is another story and was overpaid a la DWill.

overall, his track record has been within the ballpark of John Kasay..

Baker can....He just chooses not to....some dumb excuse about how it messes something up for him.

Which would be part of the reason we dropped Kasay and stuck with Baker.

Yeah, I understand why they made the move, since they wanted only 2 kickers instead of 3, I just wish we'd gone a different route at this point.
