So who do you want with our 3rd overall pick?

Our defense is a dumpster fire and huddlers want to take a WR or RT in the top 5 of the draft....not surprised

Looking at the top 5....not sure there is a DT, LB, or CB worth reaching for. I agree, ideally I want defense but we need to win some games and get a pick that makes sense.

For every Blackmon in a draft, there are a gazillion Pierre Garcons, David Gettis', etc.

Would much rather solidify Otah's replacement, and Thomas Davis' replacement in this draft. also, since there is no legitimate Suh coming out, might as well trade down and go BPA.

Im all for trading down and taking a defensive player, but like i have been saying you just cant bank on it. We wanted to trade down the last draft and it didnt happen because nobody wanted to trade with us. I dont see another Julio Jones type trade happening this draft either.

Not true. Manning has had great recieving talent. Once they Patriots shifted from a defensive/running team.....they got Brady great talent. Sure, sometimes you luck into it....but Carolina isn't a position to hope for that after drafting Cam and shifting the focus of this team.

LaFell and the overhyped Gettis ain't enough. Smitty goes down the offense is nothing.

Carolina has always brushed WR off to later rounds.....they can't do that anymore. They need a young stud. Can't continue to hope to hit gold in later rounds. AJ Green is this good right now for a reason.....you can't hope to land those type guys in the 2nd and 3rd.

If the offense is going to carry this team then you invest in it.

Your so wrong I don't know where to start.

First of all where is all this so called talent at WR this year from the colt? To say Manning didn't carry that offense is just flat out kind of stupid no one can fix.

Secondly The Pats have been putting up monster numbers this year with just Welker.

And lastly name the two great WRs that GB used to win a SB with last year?

Claiborne is every bit a top 5 prospect. He's probably the #3 prospect in the draft behind Luck and Kalil. I hope the national title is LSU vs OSU so the huddle can witness Claiborne shut Blackmon down.

No there isn't.

Where is last years AJ Green? Difference is you KNOW AJ Green is a STUD.....you are gambling with tons of uknowns trying to find one comparable guy late.

Gettis is not comparable to a Blackmon. Gettis so far is an okay, one trick pony WR for the most part.

 And what is Blackmon? A college WR who has done less than Gettis and you have no idea how he will turn out in the NFL?

please, you still have to have remotely functional QB play (see Clausen last year - and how Smitty and Gettis both sucked with him at QB).

To suggest Manning would have carried the Colts all these years with MARVIN HARRISON and Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark is just silly.

Patriots are ahead of the curve.....they aren't doing it with just Welker. They are on board with the hybrid TEs now.....and Hernandez and Gronk are BEASTS. They are masters of the mismatch. All 3 of those players create them.

Greg Jennings is one of the best WRs in the game. You suggesting he is just some roleplayer?

I was responded to someone else who used Blackmon and Gettis as comparable.

Gettis is probably the most overhyped Panther at this moment. Where are all the AJ Green clones people picked up later in the draft? Gettis hasn't shown signs he has elite #1 type potential.....

To act like Blackmon is already an elite NFL WR and has shown more than Gettis is ridiculous

I see people are still drinking the koolaid on this offense. I wonder how many more games like this past sunday it is gonna take for people to realize they are not that good yet?

So our offense has 8 good games and 1 bad one and you think our offense is not that good? The Titans played outstanding D, their D-line manhandled our O-line, and we had receivers drop balls. How about we had a bad game?

No, but this board has hyped Gettis into something he isn't.

Gettis had a decent rookie year as a late draft pick...but only looked to run a select few routes well. He has missed his entire 2nd year.

Betting on that as the answer......and ignoring the WR position is how you end up with little talent at WR.

Shockey is old and VERY injury prone. You don't ink him is as an answer to anything going forward.

Drafting a LT when you have a Pro Bowl LT who is still young in the world of offensive lineman.....would be silly w/ the needs of this team. Sort of like extending DeAngelo......other options would improve the team more.

I think Gettis is a good player that will only get better with a good QB, Shockey brings a sense of toughness and experience along with being a good receiver.

Did you watch the game Sunday? Did you see our O-line get dominated? Kalil would be a perfect fit for the O-line and would be insurance in case Otah ends up how we all think he will. Don't get me wrong I would love more weapons for Cam but we have much bigger holes to fill then drafting skill players.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
