It's like he went completely sour after the jersey number (supposed) controversy. I sit right in front of where he practices during the games, and he just looks disinterested and aloof. Perhaps it's a lack of confidence in the coaching, but he's just mailing it in at this point.

How can you blame that on the punter? We're probably last in net average on kickoffs as well, but nobody is blaming that on Mare. Every aspect of our ST sucks, but Baker is the best player on ST other than JJ Jansen.

He's 18th out of 19 punters in the NFC too in gross avg. 9 yards less per punt than the leader.

Who you gonna blame that on besides his foot?

Field position. Our offense gets us up the field, but not far enough to score. So he has to punt closer to the endzone, which results in shorter punts...

I'm just bullsh*tting my way through this, but I don't think 9 yards per punt really matter when the coverage unit lets the return man take it to the house.

      Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.

      Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.

      Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
