Players or Coaches/Staff?

Lumps

talent is the issue.....can't teach a dog to fly. There simply isn't the talent on D and ST right now.

Offensively, I fault both the coaches and players for being penalized.....they are still figuring out the scheme and strengths of what they are.

I think our coaches have done a good job with the depleted talent on defense.. especially last week.

offense poo the bed last week.. a lot of that had to do with players.. I guess the coaches can be blamed for being unable to pull them out of such a disastrous downward spiral..

We lost some very talented players on D, and we definatly lack talent up front and at the LB position, but give this team a solid offseason to get healthy and to learn this defensive scheme properly with Ota's and workouts or whatever. Rivera WILL turn this defense around to bet one of the top in tHE Nfl. Same goes for the offense!

Coaching, player ineptitude, and no depth. Basically we are all sorts of fuged up.

Coaches that are new and learning how to use the players that we have...

Injuries hurt us BAD. If Edwards, Beason and Davis had not gotten hurt, our D would be a LOT different.

With a decent draft, and what I'm hoping will be a good FA showing next off season, now that we have a legit QB, we could be really good next year.

FA wise, I think Hurney knows what he's doing, and I doubt they expected to do a whole lot this year. This off season, we have a draw for offensive FA's (Cam) and hopefully we can get these injured guys back and beef up the D with the draft.

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
