One of the most memorable patient's I have ever encountered...

Working ER I got to meet one of the finest in society, a patient from Mount Pleasant makes his way to the ER in Concord with a chief complaint of erection for 3 days. Turns out boy genius has a penile implant and was trying to deflate it but every time he tried he would actually be inflating, it got to a point that the skin was stretched and he was in excruciating pain for 2 days but too embarrassed to come in. I unfortunately could not keep a straight face even while he was in pain as I attempted to deflate it, we both laughed afterwards but this was truly remarkable.

Mt. Pleasant, NC.... I was moonlighting there for a shift. I work as a hospitalist but pick up a few shifts in the ER on the side
