Was it right to go with Felton over Fiammetta?

I thought this was interesting.

Fiammetta, who was claimed off waivers from the Carolina Panthers in September, has played a key role in the recent success of the Cowboys' running game. He does not have any rushing yards this season, but Fiammetta has been a force as a lead blocker, prompting owner/general manager Jerry Jones to call him the franchise's best true fullback since Daryl "Moose" Johnston.

In the six games Fiammetta has played this season, the Cowboys have averaged 145.8 rushing yards and 6.6 yards per carry. They averaged 84.6 rushing yards and 2.5 per carry in the three games Fiammetta did not play. The vast majority of rookie Murray's franchise-record 601 yards in the past four games have occurred with the 6-foot, 242-pound Fiammetta on the field.

i'm sure that it would have made a HUGE difference in the 6 plays a game or whatever we actually use a FB.

i liked fia way better then felton, but i think our offense is different from years passed

Our offense passes alot more, and runs plays to keep defenses on there toes and felton is a better runner and catcher then fia sooo yeah thats my thought process on the situation

Very interesting, but I would be hard-pressed to beleive he suddenly became good. He wasn't that great for us. The cowboys rushing scheme is better than ours (not necessarily production, but scheme). DeMarco Murray is the reason for this stats, not Fiametta (credit by association).

Fia was a fine fullback for us - the problem is that Hoover's legend was far larger than his play, so he had huge shoes to fill.

I actually thought the Panthers knew something we didn't in regards to his injury, causing them to release him.

That all depends. Was it Hurney's decision or Rivera's?

I think we gave up a little too quickly on Fiametta. Those who say he couldn't find an identity in the wake of the Hoover cut under Fox are correct. He could never establish himself. And in the post-Fox era, Rivera and Co. liked Felton. I like Felton, too. Fia in a different system is a better fit. So be it.

This offense didn't need a true fullback, so I wasn't surprised to see him go...
