Why do you guys hate Byron Bell so much?

This cat has been holding his own for sure because Hangartner sure hadn't helped him at all. Look at his blown protection against Suh today in this highlight. It starts at 1:31-1:34

I look at these Panthers highlights, and I see Bell pass protecting with good technique. And with his size, he is a run mauling machine waiting to happen. Rivera should move him to RG once we pick up Kalil in the draft. I can guarantee with Kalil, Wharton, Kalil, Bell, and Gross on the line, no opposing d-line will want any of that.

he enjoys grabbing defensive ends facemasks to much perhaps. fwiw i think he has a promising future at rt/rg....really like what he's shown so far, but with all the penalties he's accumulated i can see why people are down on him...i agree though, kalil/wharton/kalil/bell/gross would be a SICK line....

I don't hate him. He's great depth and he has certainly earned a roster spot.

I'm just not ready to pass on Matt Kalil because of him.

move him to rg, gross to rt and kalil at lt....problem solved. you upgrade lt, rg and rt all at once....

I never said I disagreed with that. It just seems like some people think OT isn't a need because Bell is playing decent football(still has a LOT to work on, but he's certainly not terrible).

I think OT is a need based on Gross' play at LT. The people who think OT isn't a need are just turning a blind eye to the play of our "franchise" LT. He's been dreadful this year...

We're not picking 2nd overall, which is where we'd have to be picking to get Kalil. I'd rather have Justin Blackmon anyway. Pro Bowl OT's are a lot easier to find than elite WR's.

Dude, do you even think out your thoughts before you post? Or our we just supposed to accept your opinion as fact?

We very well could be picking 2nd, and you have no idea where Kalil is going to go in the draft, even if he comes out. (He is a Junior)

There are literally dozens of quality WRs out there. But there are only a handfull of elite LTs. Why do you think most pass rushers play on the right side? Because most teams do not have an elite LT, and it is the QBs blind side. Maybe that is why quality Tackles go so high in the draft? Whereas WRs are rarely taken at the top of the draft. Unless you are the Lions. (And I am a lifetime Lions fan. But man, did that Millen character screw us.)

Com' on man.

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
