This is just an idea of current standings, remaining schedules, positions of need, and possible draft picks at current positions. These are not exact. I hope to keep this up to date as the season comes to an end.

#2 (2-14) St. Louis Rams WR, CB, OT-Matt Kalil

#5 (4-12) Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB, S, CB, WR - Justin Blackmon

#6 (5-11) Jacksonville Jaguars CB,WR DE - Quinton Coples

#7 (5-11) Washington Redskins QB, OL - Riley Reiff

#8 (6-10) Carolina Panthers DT, LB, S, CB - Dre Kirkpatrick

Think we currently pick behind Jacksonville in 5th, but by years end, if Jacksonville beats Indy, then 4th could be the spot.

I also think the Rams could win their last game of season if SF pull all starters as they will have bye sewn up and with second best record.

So 3-5 is about right.

The way I see it playing out is we end up #5-9.

Colts go 0-16 so they are #1.

The Rams could easily lose out, but I will peg them for 1 more win somewhere, and they finish 3-13 with the #2 pick.

Jax only win the rest of the season is against the lowly Colts. FInish 4-12 for the #3 overall pick.

I think the Vikings win this week against the Broncos and finish the season against the Bears at home with a win because Cutler is out.

Vikings end 4-12 for #4 overall

Cleveland, Arizona, Miami, Carolina, and Washington all finish at 5-11

No idea how the tie breakers would work. But we could be anywhere from #5-9.

We beat the Bucs both times?

No, I think we split with the Bucs and beat the Texans.. TJ Yates can't beat us, I don't think. If we only win 1 more game, we should pick #4, but I think we win 2 more and pick somewhere between #5-9 depending on how the tie breakers work out.. I can try to look it up.

We're currently tied with the 4th worst record in the league. You think it's possible that we end up picking 14th but not possible we pick 2nd? Alrighty then...

My guess is that the Colts and Rams don't win another game. There are currently 8 teams with 4 wins, adding 6 with less than 4 wins. I'm not saying they are destined for this range, just a rough estimate.

    • You could say that-- but if we don't need a starting OT this year, why would you draft a flawed one that is not going to play? (We are coming from different underlying assumptions and perspectives--I see your argument and don't disagree with the premise) Your thinking is based on the assumption that an OT for the future is more important than immediate needs at other positions, or that we can meet other needs in later rounds even if we take the OT in round 1.  I do not think there is but 1 OT worthy of a first-round grade---they are mocked based on need and demand--if we do not have a need for a starter right now, a team at 18 may grab a T that is the 33rd best player--worth it if you have no starting T, but not if you have a starter.  So just because they are mocked around the middle of the first it does not mean that the players are good values--teams get desperate.  QBs are a great example.  Simpson may be worth it in round 1 for the Cardinals, but not the Jets, because they have Geno Smith.  Sure, they will need a QB by next year, but taking Simpson is a reach. I do not see our need, with 2 starters (Walker and Moton) and another possibly returning by the end of the season enough to justify ranking OT over positions like Safety, Will LB--I do not think we replaced A Shawn Robinson (We gonna put a NT out there?  Wharton (280lbs)?  So do we reach in round 1 for a player who may not play much or do we get a Will LB that can cover?  A deep free safety?  A quality center? A playmaking TE?  A DT to replace Robinson?  A wide receiver to balance the secondary?  Long term, if the right player was there, you would be right.  Short term, OT is a luxury at this point, in my view.
    • Put Huey P Newton on the helmet. With his AK.
    • We arent switching. Evero is 3-4 to the core. Given how 3-4 has been a noticeable characteristic of top defenses recently and we have drafted and signed players fir it  I dont know why anyone would think that's a good idea
