Yes but without Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil, The Golden Calf of Bristol wouldn't be able to play the style he does.

I think we get so wrapped up in individual statistics that we forget this football is the ultimate team game. Meaning you're absolutely right, but I personally don't see what it matters. The Golden Calf of Bristol plays his style because of Miller and Dumervil, and Miller and Dumervil are able to do what they do because of Denver being able to run the ball fifty times a game.

They depend on each other, yin and yang. Really, that's why football is so special as a sport. It truly is a TEAM sport. It's the only one where your success is ENTIRELY dependent on your teammates, and I don't know if another sport, specifically a major one, can say that.

So I think that's part of the issue here. We say The Golden Calf of Bristol couldn't do what he's doing without Miller and Dumervil...well, of course. But that shouldn't be a knock on anybody, IMO.

Those projected numbers are insane...

“Over 16 games,” said Lahman, “The Golden Calf of Bristol projects to 19 touchdowns, three interceptions, 2,061 yards passing and 1,112 yards rushing with five rushing touchdowns.”

For all you guys that like to add passing and rushing....24 TDs to 3 picks?

Holy fug

Hard to be picked off when you run it 90% of the time. What exactly would you find out comparing it to picks if you don't take into account attempts?

Hard to be picked off when 50% of your passes land in a spot on the field 30 yards away from anybody wearing pads.

the crazy part of that isn't just the 24 TDs, it's the 3 INTs. That's nuts... yes he barely throws the ball but still, you'd expect more interceptions than what he is throwing these last few games from most QBs.

I wouldn't take The Golden Calf of Bristol over Cam but the reality is that he can move the ball when it comes down to it, he's just doing it in a very non-traditional way.

it's amazing what happens in 4 of your 5 wins your defense can hold teams under 20 points.

Which, for what it's worth, Orton would've done if his defense did that.

And if our defense did that? We'd have lost only two games; ATL and TEN

    • Well, the whole rationale used  for the high IQ point guard is it would allow us to spend our resources elsewhere….instead it’s all our first rounders ever since to support the bad pick.  Reality is our front office is just bad.  If you wanted Bryce Young you were going to need to do something unique and special for him.  Instead we just insert a QB with traditional tools into old NFL concepts that pair with traditional talent and our pass game is whack
    • Good to see some other folks are speaking the same language on this. It's simple common sense. But it seems like there's a disconnect due to the misplaced value the team has put on Thielen because he was the only vaguely good veteran WR willing to sign with the Panthers after we traded away DJ Moore. That time has come and gone. We have two first round WR's on the roster now.
    • Yeah I’m turning this into a Bryce can’t play QB thread. Just stating that offense was a poo show two years ago. No QB is succeeding in that, much less a rookie. I feel like it’s become a common debate strategy on here to just jump down the rabbit hole of saying he is just bad in so many ways when any certain point gets countered. If that doesn’t work we can deflect to how poorly this team has been ran. In regards to the actual point we are debating, the OL was struggling, half of the skill players aren’t on a roster, Mingo has done nothing with his new team and the staff are either not coaching or on their 3rd team in 3 years, aside from McCown (I liked McCown too). Honestly about as bad as it gets. No need to try to state how good of an offense it was billed it because that has been proven false at this point.
