My New 2012 NFL Mock Draft

FDN

Recommended Posts

Very well done. I dont want to see us take a cb in the first round with so much talent ať that position later in the draft. If the draft pans out like this we need to trade down.

theres no talent like claiborne.... maybe some future talib's but no players who have the potential to be gamble, assent samuel like....imo

Claiborne is off the board in this mock and im not a big Kirkpatrick fan. If he is available and we cant find a trading partner he have to take him because the talent matches the selection. I'd prefer to trade down however get a 2nd rounder and continue to upgrade the secondary with a player like Martin or Lester.

Hogan obviously is not the player everyone hoped he was.. he is a 4th round draft pick and nothing more (yet). Yes, he has potential like every player.. but he can't even get on the field. If you have an opportunity to get a player like Claiborne, you take it.

brockers>still

May have more potential, but would not necessarily say he is better.

Brockers right now is a run stuffer. Still us more of a pressuring UT. Given Ron Edwards (big run stuffer) as one likely starter, adding a disruptive UT (rather than another run stuffer) would be a very valid option.

I like both of them....for different reasons. Therefore, if DT is the decision that Rivera makes...I will trust him. He has put together nasty DLines everywhere he has coached.

I'm with ya there. I'm just excited to see what type of defense Rivera can bring together this coming offseason regardless of the picks.

I Still don't understand how you write off the two DT's we drafted just last year in the third AND the guys who looked promising in the late season, particularly because DT's usually require 2-3 years to make a real impact.

Why do you assume that just because people think our young DTs struggled to the point that they shouldn't be guaranteed startig spots that means we're throwing them all away?

We can't just depend on the 2-3 years thing for all of them to turn out great. And our interior line was still inconsistent at best at the end of the season. We couldn't shut down arian foster, and while brees was shredding us through the air the saints still managed to find enough time to gash us on the ground.

With A third rounder, a compensatory third round pick which is essentially an early 4th, and a guy north of 30 coming off a triceps tear as our most talented candidates going forward, DT isn't exactly a hotbed for serious competition which is what we truly need it to be to not completely suck like it did in 2011.
