Justice, Charlotte style

This happend close to where I live...I think this guy is in some serious poo due to him not being in eminent danger.

With that said, if someone breaks into my house they will be taking a dirt nap.

Up until Dec.1st, if they were unarmed and made no effort to approach you in your home, you were not allowed to use deadly force because NC was a "right to retreat" state. Now you have more options of dealing with that person.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Sheriff told me one time "if someone breaks into your house and you shoot them, make sure you kill them, even if a person is wounded. You will always win when there is only 1 side of that story, if the guy survives he have all right to sue you and have a very good chance to win a lawsuit against you. So always shoot to kill."

He's been a sheriff for about 30 years now.

We had a guy try to steal stuff from our house when I was a kid. The guy chased my dad with a bat when he went out back one morning before work to get something(my dad went to work at 5am, so it was dark out).

We called the cops and they came. The police officer that showed up told my dad if he shoots the guy, be sure that he is inside. He said "If you shoot him in the doorway, make sure he falls into the house."

For me, once someone comes into my house in the middle of the night and I see they're armed, one of us is going to die. You won't put me or my family through that, nor touch my family so you can steal my tv or whatever the hell you were trying to do. Is murder bad? Obviously. But sometimes it's necessary.

Now that I've got the BAMF side out, I think I'd piss myself if put in that situation and pray I never have to make the choice.

you really just have to say that he was between you and a family member (especially children)

Here's why the perp is dead...and rightfully so.

Police said Harthorne positioned himself between his car and the truck that James Lambert was driving in an attempt to detain Lambert until police arrived. Police said evidence they gathered indicated that Lambert accelerated the truck in Harthorne’s direction, presenting a “reasonable fear of imminent death or serious bodily harm.”

Harthorne then fired at the truck. One of the bullets struck Lambert in the head, killing him.

He was perfectly within his right to approach and confront the perps and call the police. When they made an attempt to hurt him (be it gun, machete, car, whatever), he had the right to defend himself.

Or is the fireman still a POS...

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
