Cam's footwork.

Anyone else seeing how good Cam's footwork is getting? Sometimes, seriously, he reminds me of Peyton's footwork when he is dropping back, and moving around the pocket.

It's not perfect by any means, but you can see the improvement.

It's certainly lightyears better than it was earlier this season. I'm excited to see how much progress he can make in the offseason with a season of starting under his belt.

I've said it elsewhere: when Cam sets his feet properly, he can make any throw anywhere on the field with fantastic precision. Every time I see him throw a high pass I say to myself "ah, he didn't set his feet."

Chris Weinke talked about this from when he was working with Cam before the draft, in that he was very surprised that people harped on Cam's mechanics when there were really only two minor issues with it: he sometimes didn't get his shoulders level, or he wouldn't lead with his front foot properly. Once those kinks were tweaked, he said Cam blew him away with his accuracy.

Time and repetitions will make him that much more consistent and dangerous as a passer.

I agree, it's better but I'd love to see him be more consistent from game-to-game: he has had good halves (2nd half vs. Washington) and bad halves (2nd half vs. Atlanta.)

One thing I've really enjoyed seeing of late is when he rolls out and points towards receivers to direct traffic, like that superb throw he made to LaFell to get us in FG range against Tampa a few weeks ago, or against Houston the throw he made to Shockey on the run that the corner popped out.

He's growing up rapidly, folks.

Not perfect, but not bad, that's one reason he's an improved pocket passer than he was in college.

I've long stopped worrying about how Cam will progress. I'm more interested to see how Fua and McClain will respond after their first professional season.

Back to being serious. His footwork is very impressive. I dont only think its good now though. Since the beginning of the year it's looked very good. Your right though it's getting better.
