Manning Rookie Record > Marino's All Time Record?

Just think about it for a moment.... Ya good? Ok, Cam just broke what is arguably the greatest QB of all time's rookie record while adding stats that Peyton couldnt even dream of(700 rush yds, 14 rush TD's) He did it with less turnovers and more total TD's.

Now Brees just broke a record that he already should have broken 3 years ago if our Cats hadnt gotten in the way. He did it with more attempts on average and a more liberal passing game plan, and on top of that more rules placed on defenders to not touch recievers. P.S. I know Cam may have gotten the same advantage of the rules as Brees, dont be a dick.

When all is said and done this year, Newton will have passed for 4,000+ yards, rushed for greater than 700 yards, and accounted for at least 35 total touchdowns.

People can talk about Brees' season and Brady's (50 td) season being the greatest for a QB ever, however the marks Cam has put up under center this year will stand for a long, long time (unless of course, he breaks it next year).

Can you imagine being the qb drafted to replace Cam at the end of his career. It would take Dan Marino's Grandson and Bo Jackson's Granddaughter to conceive a child capable of following such greatness.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
