Saints and Falcons both without 1st round picks for 2012 draft

Just a friendly reminder.

Saints gave up a 1st and 2nd for a guy to be part of their 4 RB rotation, average 3.9 YPC and get injured all the time (LOL)

Falcons gave up a truckload of picks for a #2 WR so they could be the first team in NFL playoff history to finish with a whopping 2 points (double LOL)

Remember when the Panthers traded a future 1 (and a 2nd and 4th) for Otah and it came back to bite us in the ass? And then it lead to other desperate (bad) moves because we were short on picks. Well, shoes on the other foot this time.

These moves catch up to you eventually and that "eventually" is coming this offseason. If ever there were a time to leapfrog these teams in the division it would be now.

Man I hope we find a desperate trade partner...

Imagine us winning the coin flip over Miami and having some QB-needy team pulling an Atlanta from last year and trading us a slew of picks to move up and grab Tannehill. With Miami needing a QB and with Ponder going so high last year you never know.

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
