Dilfer clowns Tebow

but in my book, a QB should be judged on more than mechanics, Grossman may have better mechanics, but it doesnt make him a better passer. Vince Young has bad mechanics and even he is better than Grossman in my book.

Okay. I was more pointing that out because you said "This shows to me that Dilfer isn't the brightest guy,". He wasn't saying The Golden Calf of Bristol was a bad QB. He said his mechanics are horrible. Person took it out of context to gain followers, get some hits, or sell papers depending on where that quote came from. So really Dilfer intelligence shouldn't be questioned here, more like Person's just another media guy spinning whatever he can to get another dollar.

Dilfer sucked...period. How does he have the credentials to grade QBs like that? I put about as much stock in what he says as I do Todd McShay, which is very very little.

Just because a person sucked doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about.

HC, OC, DC, and PC in the NFL are not made up of all Hall of Famers. Some of the best analysts never even stepped on the field at the NFL level.

The last time I checked, football is still a team sport. What the Broncos' have shown is, what happens when EVERYONE on the team are all on the same page.

I'm sure if all teams would seriously demand EVERYONE to step up and perform like the Broncos, more teams would make it to the Superbowl or close to it, even if the QB is one like The Golden Calf of Bristol. The problem is, we are trained to demand more out of some QBs while making excuses and doing everything we can to make others look good.

I seriously want to know the measuring stick that is used to determined what constitutes a good, great, not so great, and really bad QB?

well if THAT is what Dilfer said, then he's right, but if he thinks that The Golden Calf of Bristol is the worst QB, short and simple, then i think he's off base because Grossman is far worse.

How is everyone saying Dilfer doesn't have the credentials to critique The Golden Calf of Bristol? Um, he played QB in the league at a hell of a lot higher level than The Golden Calf of Bristol has ever done....he's won a superbowl and he also studies the position as hard as anyone. This was the first national media pundit who actually had a positive thought on what Cam Newton could do in the NFL wayy back in April(if memory serves) and I remember Colin Cowherd being incredulous at that.

I'd value his opinion over some random posters on an internet message board any day of the week.

Dilfer rating pro QB's is kinda funny

Yeah, and Cam Newton could never improve as an NFL quarterback being coached by guys like Chris Weinke and Ken Dorsey because, as we all know, if you're an average-to-bad QB in the NFL then you have no basis of knowledge at all to comment on or coach the QB position.

Right?

he won a super bowl with the Ravens defense, he didnt play great that year, with that said, it seems like that was taken out of context.
