you saw Newton at florida?

Yeah, he barely played but you saw flashes. He fit the spread under Urban way more than Brantley.

It was one of those deals where he was never going to pass The Golden Calf of Bristol and he would just have to wait his turn. But he did the right thing and chose to transfer. As a fan, you didn't want to see him go to an opposing team but knew it was the best thing for him to do.

I dont think we need to draft a return specialist. We have talent, what we lack is the ability to block on special teams.

I think the deal is our returners have the top speed but not the quickness to adjust to the NFL. Pilares looked very solid as a guy to have back there on kickoffs, but I think getting a guy that can do both KR/PR like a Joe Adams would be a great fit. Especially if you find a WR with enough room to develop into a slot guy as Smitty begins winding down over the next 3-4 years or so. Its like getting a Randall Cobb type that's not a conversion project.

I like Coples I think the guy could be a total monster. If we can't get him then I think we go with Decastro or Martin and solidify the O-line, and pick up the best defensive player available in the second, there are a lot of good guys there. If we can get Coples and someone like Martin, Burfict, or Jenkins in the second then that would be ideal.

I also agree that we need a coverage Will backer and I think Zach Brown is the perfect guy for TD's old position, however he will be a reach at 8. If we manage to trade down and pick up another second or first rounder then he could be the guy to target, and we could pick up Janoris Jenkins or Dontari Poe with our other pick. I don't really think Brockers is the right pick at number 8, I would rather have DeCastro, Coples, Kirkpatrick, or even Martin there.

Best case for me would be Coples and Burfict, those guys would really bring some elite talent to the defense, and all we would really need would be a CB and some depth at S and OLB. Those two players would solve most of our defensive problems.

I am iffy on Brockers. With us picking Top 10 we need a guy who can produce now not 2-3 years down the road. Along with that Brockers is still below Still in terms of DT prospects. The ONLY way I wouldn't mind Brockers is if we can get a CB in the 2nd or Kirpatrick and Claiborne are both gone and the OTs aren't impressive at the combine.

CB could easily be had in the 2nd, seeing as how deep the CB class is this year, but I'd really like a DE there.

I know a lot of people are probably going 'wut', but no matter how good your secondary is, if you aren't getting pressure, they're going to get eaten alive.

Don't get it. Rivera makes it a point to say he likes what we have at DT, but people have us taking DT first.

Our secondary was pathetic to the point Meeks got himself fired yet we'll do nothing to improve the position.

The best defensive secondary is a pass rush, however, I think that we go CB/S in round 2.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
