Jake Delhomme May Retire

He's just a QB people. He set no records and won no Superbowls. you need to do stuff like that for Jerseys and Statues.

As a fan base we REALLY need to up our standards.

Ummm he and Moose have the rcord for longest passing play in Superbowl history... and yes its an offical stat/record. It use to be the longest play from scrimmage until this little HB from the Steelers broke that with a I think it was a 95 yard run.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't he also hold Panther's records for completions, TDs passes, and playoff wins.

Also, up until the Zona debacle he had the highest playoff QB rating in the history of the NFL.

People who think Jake was mediocre in his prime is retarded.

On top of all that he is probably the greatest ambassador for this franchise in team history. The only reason that is a probably is because a strong case could also be made for Sam Mills.

Well said sir well said. It shows how fast fans turn on a player when their careers start to tail spin. He was a good Qb for us until his elbow injury and the coaching mistakes in the playoffs vs the cardinals.

Let me just end this conversation right now.

A statue is too much (retiring his jersey is possible) He does deserve to retire a Panther, and anyone who disagrees is a mentally incapable grass eater who hasn't been a fan of this organzation longer than 4 years, but more than likely showed up within the last one-in which case your opinion is worthless and you should remove yourself from this thread immediatley.

There. Now that that's been resolved, let's move on to other issues.

Cam is the most talented QB in Panther history......that doesn't make him the best. You got to put in the work. Lots of talented guys flop and less talented guys have better careers.

Delhomme put in the work. Delhomme had the success. Delhomme is the best to date.

So in the draft, will the panthers take the best player available, or the most talented? Seems like the same thing to me

This is part of the reason why I think he should have his jersey retired.

.Posted passer rating of 100 or better for the fifth time in six postseason starts...Passer rating of 108.4 after first six postseason starts stands as the highest since 1994 when Dallas' Troy Aikman posted a 115.7 passer rating...108.4 passer rating after first six postseason starts ranks third all-time behind Aikman and Washington's Joe Theismann...Became first quarterback in NFL history to earn four consecutive postseason road wins...One of three quarterbacks in NFL history to win four postseason road games overall, joining Len Dawson and Roger Staubach...Helped Panthers equal NFL record with four consecutive road wins in the playoffs, previously accomplished by the Dallas Cowboys from 1975-81...Panthers became only fourth team since 1990 to win an NFL Divisional Playoff game on the road...Second such occurrence for Delhomme who contributed to Panthers 29-23 double-overtime victory in NFC Divisional Playoffs at St. Louis (1/10/04).
