applauding in a movie theater

Acceptable? Have you ever done it or been in a theater where it was done?

I was watching "White Men Can't Jump" at Eastland Mall in Charlotte (and yes I was one of the few honkys in the place). The place went CRAZY when Woody slammed that one through at the end of the movie-- I'm talking high fives and all sorts of hootin' and hollerin'.

That's really the only time I can think of a big time reaction like that in a movie.

Star Wars was the only movie that happened.

Same here! When that Death Star exploded the entire theater went crazy!

The other movie was Chuck Norris' "Missing in Action". When he rescues some POW's still locked away in a Vietnam prison camp. There were some cheers when he breaks into the meeting with them. (OF course, I think the audience was made up of mostly Vietnam vets.)

Only time I heard clapping in the theater was Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers at the big calvary charge scene. One guy started clapping. Everyone started looking at him funny. :)

I remember watching Saving Private Ryan and seeing the guy next to me crying. He looked old enough to be a WWII veteran, so maybe he knew what it was about. Didn't think less of him at all.

    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
    • That’s a grade I kind of expected tbh. I’m not a huge fan of NS, but he’s not as bad as what the huddle says he is minus the horrible game he had vs the Rams. I’ve always thought he’s often used as a scapegoat. The improved pass rush should hide his deficiencies a little bit better if he’s the game one starter. FS might have to be a position we punt on this year unless Thieneman falls to us at 19. The reality is, you're going to have a few average players in certain spots for a team with as many holes we had before free agency started. You can’t sign everyone.
    • I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch.  If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.
