Aints reel in Spagnuolo

What Saint fans like most fans don't get is that each year stands on its own. Because you were good this year doesn't guarantee anything next year. Obviously Saint fans and Packer fans are finding out that just because you won one Superbowl doesn't guarantee you will make any more down the road.

As a player Brees understands that. Obviously he will be loyal to the Saints but won't take less money than he deserves or less guaranteed money. He knows that his career could end tomorrow or if he doesn't produce on the field he could be gone. That lesson was brought home to him when he injured his shoulder and almost lost his career several years ago. Look at Manning. Despite what he has meant to the Colts, they seem ready to kick him to the curb if he can't play this year. Nothing is promised and you have to make the most of the opportunities when they present themselves.

Spags is a good coordinator yet it doesn't mean they will be any better. After all look at us. Rivera had the best defense in 2010. Didn't really help us in 2011 when he came here.

St Louis was ranked 22nd in total yards in 2011, New Orleans was ranked 24th.

St Louis was ranked 19th in 2010.

Might be better as a coordinator than HC. Time will tell.......

I think time has already told that he's a better coordinator than head coach.

All that's true but I'd still feel a lot better if they got some no name guy rather than a proven talent.

Yep we are gonna sweep you punks....

When we don't have 6 defensive starters on IR including our 3x All pro MLB.

Looking at the PfF grades of these great players that will make all the difference:

Beason only played 38 snaps but graded a very poor -2.2

Capt. Munnerlyn played over 800 snaps and overall graded -5.9, with pretty bad pass coverage and run block grades, his positive +2.3 pass rush grade saved his overall grade from being even worse

Davis played 108 snaps and graded very average 0.1 grade. His run defense grade was -2.0 and pass coverage +1.2

Thomas Williams played 106 snaps and graded a decent +1.8

The above is all the defensive players on IR with exception of defensive tackles and there is nothing there to support your claim that huge amounts of talent went on IR and will come back next year and be so good, they will stop Brees twice and sweep the Saints. The guys on IR were mostly average or below average and in many games, their replacements graded better than them.

But hey, if you think fooling yourself into thinking your defense is much better than it is will help pass the summer with more positive thoughts about next year, then more power to you. Just try to avoid looking at any actual stats this offseason , otherwise you will ruin the fantasy.

the elitist and arrogant attitude that saints fans have is going to make their fall right back into those bags that covered their heads for most of their 40 years of existence all the more funny.

saints have peaked.

only thing that ever worried me about the saints D is their douchiness. the late hits and cheap shots.

hopefully that is gone now. although knowing that they still have some of their douche players there it may linger.

i loved that the 49ers gave them back a good dose of what they've been dishing out. reaction from their fans was priceless.

The Saints will not be playing the Giants on Sunday

Brees is busy redoing the french provincial kitchen in his winter home, he's going Tuscan

Jimmy Graham is in a tanning bed listening to rosetta stone "English" on his iPod

Heisman Mark Ingram is reviewing his rookie year carries, all 9 of them

Meachum is thumbing through "offers" from multiple teams and wondering how he will look in Orange stripes

Carl Nicks is shopping for an amphibious ferrari to spend his tag bonus on

Sean Peyton is playing Madden, using the Panthers

You use statistic like a drunk uses a lamp post, for support instead of illumination.

Beason had not been able to train or run in all of TC and all of the offseason. That was not in the statistic was it?

Jon Beason played one half of a game last season, surely that's enough to grade him on his career. Typical ignorant saint fan.
