No thanks.

seriously? dude was collapsing the pocket, he was frustrating the passer by getting his hands up when he wanted to throw, he was stopping the run, he was pushing through double teams constantly and he got better as the game went on. dude flat out wore out the linemen in front of him.

I will admit, the 1st qtr he didn't look worth the 8th overall pick.. however, he did get better and better as the game went on. He was double teamed on 80% of the plays.. but he does play with high pad level.. yet he is still fairly dominant. If he can get that pad level down, then he can by consistently dominant. He is not a polished product.. if you take him, it's on potential because I think his technique is a little too sloppy to be starting at this point, and to make a significant impact early on. But this guy has all the tools to be a dominant player at the position for a long time.

Didnt like the motor, did not look disruptive at all, no effort backside when they ran away from him.. plays with too high a pad level.

O.o I don't think we're talking about the same clip...or even the same player. The only thing you said that's applicable was the pad level. Which is true, but that will come with coaching.

he made tackles 8 yards down field on his backside, he pushed Muarry off his spots in the pocket, and was disruptive.go back and watch the NC vs bama or just go watch other guys highlights and 90 will flash a lot.

Brockers, Coples, and Still are all very similar players. Will we go d-line? One of those guys will be available if we do. They all may be available. But if we go d-line in the first then I think we have to get the best CB available with our second round pick.

A stronger line and Gamble, Hogan, and whatever CB we got in the second would greatly improve our defense. It would be nice to somehow get a 3rd round pick or another second without having to trade away future first and second round picks and grab a safety. I know Martin won't be starting next year.

i would like to go some variation of DT/CB with the first two picks. ideally we would be able to trade back for a couple firsts, but i'm not counting on that being a realistic option.

i would rather go DT first because CB is deeper this year, although i think we might be able to pull of poe, cox, or worthy in the 2nd if we go CB in the first.

as bad as the run D was this year, though, in addition to being poor at getting pressure on the QB, DT just seems like a massive priority above anything else. i didn't see anything in what we have currently that would be good enough to warrant not taking DT early.

it's kind of like the QB situation last year. many thought it wouldn't make sense to draft another QB early because we had just drafted clausen and people thought it was too early to give up on a 2nd rounder, but the truth was even at his best he wasn't good enough to pass up on an elite QB prospect like cam.

i don't think any of the DT prospects (including coples if you moved him to DT) are on the level of cam, but still, i would put 4 or 5 of the prospects significantly above fua and mcclain.

:yesnod:

We don't have any first round talent at DT, you gotta have that. Johnson and Hardy would be better players with that inside presence.

That video showed how the guy wore down his opponent till he just dominates at will, very few guys can do that, freshman or senior. Like I said they had three guys on him at times. We need a guy like this.

What is scary about Brockers is that he's not even close to touching his true potential. There may not be a Cam Newton but this guy may have as much upside.

All aboard the Brockers wagon!! Buy your tickets now

I really like this guy. He's a boom or bust type of pick, but I believe in him. He's a smart, driven and talented player that should transition well into the NFL. DT is also becoming a really important position in the league. Just look at what Vince Wilfork did for the Patriots defense. They've sucked all year but when Wilfork comes to work, suddenly that defense doesn't look all that bad. This year I may just be putting all my chips in a high risk high reward type of pick, because I see this guy doing very well.

i think this is a "swing for the fences" type team and this pick seems very much in line with that. same with jenkins.

they are willing to take a gamble on someone if they have the drive and the hunger and the potential to be great.
