The Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Rescue Team and other area organizations were called in by Stokes County Animal Control to assist in the rescue of more than 150 dogs from a Danbury, N. C. property. The Stokes County Animal Control served a search and seizure warrant on the property Tuesday morning and found that the dogs were being housed in unsanitary conditions and lacked proper socialization and medical care. The owner has surrendered all of the dogs to the Stokes County Animal Control.

“Many of these dogs were living in filthy cages so small that they could barely stand up and turn around. The conditions these dogs were housed in demonstrates why North Carolina must pass legislation regulating these breeders,” said Kim Alboum, North Carolina state director for The Humane Society of the United States. “Large-scale breeders in our state currently face no regulations or routine inspections. These lax laws have made North Carolina a safe-haven for inhumane puppy mills like this one.”

Animals on the property were reportedly living in deplorable conditions -- the majority of them suffering from some type of ear, nose or dental infection, officials with the U.S. Humane Society said. One official described the scene as "heartbreaking" and said it may be the worst they've seen in North Carolina.

"I'm very ashamed that this happened in my county and I'm appalled at where the dogs were being kept," Animal Control Officer Phil Handy said.

150 dogs! English Bulldogs, the list goes on and on. If you ever wanted a dog, call the Charlotte Humane Society and find out how to adopt one. They won't be ready for several days to a week while they all get checked out by vets.

This is why I won't by a puppy from a breeder!

Q#$%%$^#$%^ Puppy Mill Breeders!

I hope they put those responsible in a small gage!

Maybe leave me alone with them and allow me a cattle prod!

When you consider all of the child abusers and rapists, elderly abusers and people who con them out of their life savings, animal abusers and people who do schit like this, I swear the world would be a better place without about half the humans currently in it. They add nothing and they do awful things because they don't give two rips about anyone but themselves.

As long as people demand pure bred dogs as pets, instead of giving a dog at the kennel a chance, this will never go away.

Supply and demand. The same reason why they will never win the war on drugs either.

not everyone wants to take a chance on a mutt. Maybe if people took care of their dogs there wouldn't be a bunch of dumb mutts running around town. it's ridiculous how many "responsible" adults don't spay/nueter their dogs and then abandon them.

People who are child abusers/rapists etc often start out as animal abusers. They should all be shot.

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
