Should we get Alshon Jeffrey in the 5th round??

Alshon played for South Carolina. I'm surprised at how many of you don't know who he is. He's an All-American, comparable to MEGATRON, he dominated nebraska in the bowl game this year and got ejected for pushing a player back after taking a punch, and still won the MVP. I want this guy bad and if we can get him in the 2nd, i'm all about it, but I doubt he'll make it past 20. I'm surprised to see his size and 40 though.

Comparable to MEGATRON HOW? Just because he's big? Megatron runs a 4.35 40 yard dash, and can get separation easily, Alshon CANNOT.

Time will tell.....

half the posters here will either look like a moron or a genius.

come on now, you just can't say that AJ will be better than Megatron is....not based on the way he finished his college career (not that Megatron was beast-like every week in college but he is in the NFL). AJ simply isn't as athletic and looks to have fat boy syndrome.

at this point it's all speculation no one knows who will be good or a bust but watching AJ his whole college career I feel confident that he will be a star in the NFL.

I think that is how his time in the nfl will look .. he will have corners right on him a lot of the time .. but what sets him apart is his ability to go up and take a ball that is thrown well enough for him to have a shot at it. And you can see it on the screen passes he has the quick first step to make a move up field. We are literally looking at only straight line speed as a disadvantage and maybe some of his short route running abilities.

You were watching the same video as everyone else, right?

Jenkins took Jeffrey out of the game.

I saw that game in it's entireity(sp?) 3 times and yes I watched that video. Maybe you should watch it again. He was targeted 8 times and caught 6. Lattimore was given the ball 40 times. 40 .. once again .. 40. They didn't have to throw in that game because latti got 7 yards a carry. However, if you would watch again .. if that ball was able to be caught .. it was.

    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
    • It is due diligence at that point. Irresponsible not to take him.  Crossing my fingers on this one, he has everything you look for except experience.
