I've got the ring and I am proposing.

Okay, spare me the "don't get married" crap. I have an amazing woman and I love her, and I am honestly lucky to even have been with her as long as I have.

So, I have got the blessing from here parents, bought the ring, and I am planning to propose soon.

I am thinking about doing it the week after Easter. We both have the week off and our families are going to be at the beach anyways.

She has always wanted to go to Charleston, so I am thinking about making up something with her parents about how they got free tickets to something down there (giving us an excuse to go and hopefully keeping her surprised).

I have never been down there, but I heard it was beautiful. It seems like a good opportunity to take her to a place she wants to go badly, as well as popping the question.

I have heard that the battery is pretty awesome, and white gardens too. Sullivan's Island?

Thoughts? Advice on Charleston?

The only don't get married crap you'll get from me is to make sure you're 110% certain she's THE ONE... AND that she thinks 110% that you are THE ONE for her... If she is and you are, then marriage can be great, and I'm happy for you.

Charleston is very nice... watch out for the sang gnats this time of year, they will carry you off.

Pretty much anything that you do that is from the heart will be appreciated I'm sure.

Charleston has the third longest among cable-stayed bridges in the Western Hemisphere. Also, would make a good place to jump from instead of making this horrific mistake you are speaking of.

Just kidding. Congrats!

Congrats, it is a fun ride.

The only advice I have is for both of you to strive to give more than your 50% to the relationship, as it actually requires 100% from both parties.

Oops. I have more. Communicate. Also, the best way to avoid temptations of all kinds is to avoid situations where it comes up.

Ok, done.

Charleston? Was just there last summer. Had a great time. We stayed at the Mills House, but probably should have gone with the French Quarter Inn.

Food: Peninsula Grill and Magnolias were memorable, but I'm a tourist and people on this board are locals and know a hell of a lot more than me.

Congrats! Marriage is great! I've been happily married going on 8 years....3 words of advice from me...

Separate

Bank

Accounts

You're welcome :)

really? my brother in law does that with his wife and it creates all kind of issues...guess it really depends on the couple. He is in a situation where he makes a lot more money than his wife and uses that as his "trump" card I think.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
