take a carriage ride??? yeah...the horse poop might ruin a good moment

No big deal during Spring time. The poop bags work.

However, I would not recommend the horse drawn carriage ride in the middle of the summer. Spend July 4th week-end there a few years ago (July 1st anniversary) and thought the carriage ride would be great. With the heat and humidity, the smell was god awful...not to mention the flies.

ya'll just forget I ever mentioned anything..I'm obviously in the minority and no one understands what I'm talking about

Hell no, my wife and I do the same thing. I pay all the bills, mortgage, my oldest sons after school care, and both car payments. She does the groceries and my youngest sons daycare (which was over $12K last year...damn kids). When I get my commission check I'll dump a couple grand into her account. She buys what she wants. I buy what i want. When we go out as a family i pay. Sh*t works like a dream.

you are the exception and not the standard then...everyone that I've talked to about this has given the opposite advice. I see the ones who keep it separate and its a huge issue. One buddy struggles while she's off buying Kate Spade purses...but she contributes to the bills and lives at a different income level. (Actually know several like this)

I kind of agree. Have a joint account that each contributes to in proportion to salary. Then each have a separate account for personal stuff - and for gift-giving, etc. The joint account pays for bill, most meals out, vacations, life in general. The personal accounts pay for extra stuff that each other may not agree on - hair/nail, golf/poker, gifts to each other.

Did you know that horses poop when they get body-deep in water? Yes ma'am. That would be why I sat on the beach and let others go swimming with the horses. I paid $xx for a horseback riding thing in Jamaica. More than half involved bareback in the ocean. I saw what the horses did with the first group. Oh. Hell. No.

My husband makes more money than I do too but he doesn't play like that.

I always use a debit card..he prefers cash.. ..I know exactly how much there is in there because I'm the only one in my account and vise versa..

this has worked for us for 12 years..if I need money, I ask (which I despise) but the one thing we never ever argue about is money. When we got married we decided to keep it the way it was because it had already worked so well the 4 years prior. Why change it simply because we're married..if it ain't broke, don't fix it

Obviously when you have kids it's a little different..sure have a joint acct..but I really think that you should have your own to do with what you want

I read this and I substitute sex for money in this discussion.

I've been married over 20 years and that would never work for me. Trust is trust.

However, I love most everything you and LIAG post and want to do you both so take it for what it's worth!

OK, this is a good point. My wife has her Pampered Chef account she does whatever the hell she wants to with, I could care less.

And I have my Paypal/Ebay account that goes towards golf/etc.

But our work Paychecks hit the same account. :cheers2:

In my case, trust has nothing to do with it. I trust my wife and I think she trust me, having a joint account would not change that one way or the other. Having seperate accounts is just a lot more convenient and easier to manage.
