Panthers Release Jason Baker

classic fans... can't remember poo if it was stuck on your upper lip...

problem was Baker didn't get the hang time that was expected.. had nothing to do with kicking it to Hester...

Hester should of been stopped for a 10 yard gain at BEST. Literally had 2 Panthers sandwich him in at the same time both on top of him and whiffed. Just like AZ...punt coverage was beyond pathetic.

They had Baker not just kick that one unique but asked him to kick shorter bc coverage was so weak in general.

Baker wasn't bad....he got expensive. Of you go back and watch the costly returns....you can't be mad at Baker. His coverage unit was in position to make fairly easy stops.

30th in average and 37th in net average with 3 Touchdown returns during 2011.

Baker was bad, but poor Panther Special Teams play magnified the problem.

Baker had a few good years but here's hoping the 2012 Panthers get the Punter and Special Teams coverage problems fixed. :cheers2:

While I believe that Baker was a good punter up until last year its time to move on but the question is do we go free agency or draft?

Thanks Baker for the memories, I do believe that you made a couple of TD saving tackles.

yes he did. I remember his first or second year, he jacked somebody up good on the sideline. And everyone remembers when he got Leon Washington by the bottom of the foot.

Good Move IMO. We will get another punter who can deliver. Bye Jason and thanks for your services...

you could of taken the statitcally best P in the league last year and put him in Carolina....and he would have been one of the worst.

From a talent perspective...Kasay/Baker is much better than Mare/Canadian dude. P doesn't really matter as much as K though.

I'm not sure that Baker is better than the "Canadian Dude". He was a stud in college and has done pretty damn well in Canada. It's too bad that the team that drafted him had a knee jerk reaction and cut him after one game.

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
