Mr. Optimistic Here Saying Once Again The Nfc South Is Ours.

The Taints are headed for the cellar, where they will likely drown when the levees break. Sorry, for the non PC BS but they have dug there own graves or above ground Crypt if you prefer. Then you have the off season winners Tampa Bay who still needs to cross there fingers V-Jax does not decide to party too hard and drink and drive. Regardless they have to get it done on the field and i think we split the season. The Falcons defense is still not as good as ours could be with a productive draft and people coming back healthy. Also people want to hate on our off season so far and all i see is improvement.

We needed a better fullback than Jerome Felton we went out and got the BEST FB in FA with Tolbert. We need safety competition and we went out and got a RAVEN. Say what you want Nakumura is a likely starter, And we are sitting pretty in the draft. CB, DE, and OLB are deep this year and we can find production at those positions.

I agree, A Linemen either side of the ball in the first would ad confidence to this for me. Possibly a trade down to pick up fletcher cox....moving back a few picks to snag a dt and maybe picking up a 2nd or 3rd in the process. We will see what can be done, I am not sure of trade value after the rg3 trade,.....lol

I am not as optimistic. As much as I hate the Saints*, and trust me I hate them, they will have Brees back and he can pretty much run the offense with that nerdy looking QB coach they have. Payton will be in communication with his staff and Brees for game week prep, you know it and I know it. Atlanta has owned our asses. Tampa is a coin toss. Then we have to face the NFC East and the Chicago Bears.

This. Little two early to claim the division when Atlanta has swept us the pass two years.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with OP. Just wanted to throw in:

As far as the Buccaneers go, and I'm not doing any research here, but I can't remember any team that has ever gone crazy in free agency and then won anything the following season. Free agency almost always seems to be a trap.

I think the offense of this team will be a top 3 offense in the league. Too many weapons. We will score a lot of points. Its up to our defense on how far we go. Its up to our Front office to get the right players in the draft or FA and then its up to the coaches to develop them throughout the season.

Simply, I wouldnt trade our team or our roster for any team in the NFC South.

If the Panthers can't find themselves in the post season this year, that is going to be a huge issue with me. Buccs have a nice team on paper but I don't think they are there yet, the Flacons I never count in and Saints (chuckle).

I'm really not that confident about our team this coming year. Our defense was god awful and we really aren't doing anything to improve it. Sure we get Edwards back, that will make the D line "okay" but it still won't give us any pressure up the middle from our DTs. Then of course we are getting beason back... but not at full strength due to his achilies injury, so i sincerely doubt he will be a huge factor, then there is the big question of Thomas Davis, who plays if he gets hurt because the possibility is likely (as much as I hate admitting that). then there's the problem with our secondary, mainly at FS and CB#2. A good draft might help a bit, but I don't expect our defense to be all that great this year. hopefully I'm wrong, but I just have a bad feeling about this year.

    • I would take the giants roster over Panthers. Lawrence, 3 OLB/DEs, Thomas, and nabers. Lawrence is better than dbrown and Thomas is better than icky. Panthers don't have one edge that would start over those 3 not matter how people feel about burns. Id believe....I think I would take nabers over the whole WR group....Id need to think about, but I feel it is right or 50/50..... Now after the top 10, Panthers may have claim. Im just not that big of a NFL fan like past time to make a good case. I'd just take giants on their top talent.    I will say this, if BY carries this team to the playoffs, he alone would flip this.
    • Looks like he ran out of real estate.  He had 5 total TDs. As good as we have ever seen in Carolina? Looks like he is the only QB in our history with 3 passing and 2 rushing TDs and he tied a single game record of 5 TDs in one game with Cam and Beurlein.  Throw in his 73.4% completions and zero turnovers, literally the ONLY thing you could argue against statistically is total yardage which was only 275.  You may not agree with that statement (not 100% sure I do), but it's really not THAT wild...
    • I have for too long lacked giving good posting beers, fire, etc.  Good post, its beyond prove it time and until then 30s is where they belong.
