Take this for what it's worth...

Incarcerated Bob@incarceratedbob

Panthers (RB) Stewart being pursued by 5 teams (2Teams in lead as of now) Broncos / Browns / Steelers / Giants / Pats @

We have 5 teams that have called about Jonathan Stewart (RB - Panthers) the most interested teams so far are the Broncos (Offering 3rd & another later pick) & now the Browns, who jumped in the past 24hours.. Cleveland also has interest in Forte but the price is still a little high so they are giving themselves multiple options at this point. The other 3 teams are - Giants / Patriots / Steelers (Pittsburgh loves him) but are being held hostage by the Wallace contract talks..

Good gosh, I hope he does not go to the Giants. I mean, he would be great there, but I was hoping he would go to the AFC.

All 4 AFC teams have been mentioned. Hope we don't deal with the Pats or we will end up giving them next years 2nd to take him.

Denvers 2nd is where I am betting.

The ONLY way Stew leaves, is if Stew wants to leave.

Or..We get an offer we can't ignore. But those things only happen to other teams.

Seriously, you have to know that Hurney has asked Stew if he wants to be here long term. If Hurney is confident in Stew wanting to stay. He is not going to lose Stew. If Hurnery is afraid of losing Stew. He just may entertain trade options.

The timing is perfect. With the new TV money coming right in time to resign Stew, and Smitty. And maybe even that fancy FA some of you are pining for.

With some luck we could sniff the Playoffs this year. Which is exciting in its own right. But, to me, next year is the year we establish ourselves as legitimate contenders. Round off all the rough edges this year. So we can finish the job next year.

The future is so bright, even my giddy is wearing sunglasses. And GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course you go with the best offer so if some team is actually stupid enough to trade a first for him then by all means go for it, but if you can get a deal that includes a second round pick that's still more valuable than one more year of 700 rushing yards that we can get from Tolbert anyway, and don't forget even last year Cam got 700 yards as well so it's not like the running game is going to drop off

Or he demands his worth after this year.... Carolina can't afford that with Williams. All reports are he is holding

off until then.

Yeah, technically they could pay him, but no team is going to invest that much into the RB spot....especially with a Newton on the roster.

Not only can Cam run but they are going to have to redo his deal soon....and you still have to have money to field a playoff caliber team.

    • Would you just fuging quit trying to make us like him? That is his job, not yours.  Thank you.
    • Rookie season being key to uour argument. I didn't at all mislead about the talent Cam had to work with. Kalil was a great center. Olsen was a great TE. Our WRs were probably the worst in the league. Cam still won MVP, we went 15-1, and we went to the SB. Your attempt to bring up Cam to defend Bryce is desperate and clownish. Bryce has more talent to work with and has done WAY less.
    • Not exactly sure that is an honest assesment of the talent he had to work with that year. Olsen had over 1100 yards that season making the PB, Stewart had close to 1100 total yards also going to the PB. He had Kalil at C who went to the PB, Trai Turner at RG who also went to the PB, and Michael Oher at LT who played well enough that the Panthers offered him a new contract the following year. I wouldn't call that a trash OL. He also played with a defense that was stacked with talent as well.   "The thing we are doing better this time around is actually surrounding our #1 overall draft pick QB with talent vs. asking him to completely carry the offense. I just hope that effort is leading us to realize that the guy isn't even good enough to get carried." Please.... Did you not read the list of names Newton had to work with his rookie season. I guess you missed it so I will post it again for you... Steve Smith (PB), Greg Olsen (PB), Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn JR, Deangelo Williams (PB), Jonathan Stewart (PB), Jordan Grossn (PB), Ryan Kalil (PB) on the offensive side and then he had Luke Kuechly (PB), Jon Beason (PB), Thomas Davis (PB), Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short ( PB ),Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy (PB ), Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman (PB)  For comparison, here is who Young had his first year.  Chuba Hubbard, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Ikem Ekwonu, Chandler Zavala, Bradley Bozeman, Nash Jensen and Taylor Morton. Not a single PB player on the list and most of them aren't even playing any longer. Additionally, his HC was fired during the season and the defense was as bad as the offense.  You might not like the comparison but saying Newton had to completely carry the offense isn't exactly fair to the 4 pro bowlers on offense who played with him that year.
