So We Lose The Lottery And Draft Second...

We better hope we pick first. I don't know if Barnes is coming out. I don't think I'd want him at this point anyways. I wouldn't want Andre Drummond. He reminds me too much of Kwame Brown. I'd be interested in Perry Jones III because of his size, length, athletic ability, and versatility. If we trade DJ Augustine, then maybe I'd be interested in Austin Rivers. I'm tired of drafting point guards though. We better get that number 1. I don't know if a team has ever been more deserving of it, then the Bobcats.

we certainly deserve it...but it's not guaranteed. Davis is no Griffin or Howard, but he's the only

sure thing in this draft. The drop-off to second looks to be as big as it was from Howard to Okafor.

We need a starter at every position...I don't see us keeping DJ, and I'm a long way from being sold

on Kemba. It just sucks to think about drafting second.

Perry Jones perplexes me as much as Barnes. Both have the physical tools but lack the aggressiveness needed to feel comfortable picking either in the top five.

If we're at No. 2 I look and see what the trade back market is...if there isn't anyone offering to move up I say take MKG.

Three months ago Drummond would have been the no brainer No. 2 but he has tons of question marks.

If we were to trade back I wouldn't mind Barnes/Perry combo...which would be great value.

Just curious, does anyone think the entire lottery system is a joke and should be scrapped? They are the only sport that I know of that does it, and all it does is ends up screwing over the worst teams in the league, the teams that need the talent. Look at the Bulls in '08, they were only a couple of games out of the playoffs, win the lottery and boom, get a future MVP. All the while most of the teams that were worse than they were that year, are still bad. Its a joke to think that far and away the worst team in the league(like us this year, or the heat in '08), could end up with the 4th pick in the draft. All the while teams that barely miss the playoffs have the possibility of getting the #1 pick.

I think the only reason we are complaining about this is because we have the worst record and should have the top overall pick. If we weren't the worst team this wouldn't even be a topic. It's unfair but it's supposed to prevent teams from tanking. But on the bright side we have a 1 and 4 chance to land the top pick.

    • That's fair, but I've also never said you can't enjoy a win, there is a big difference between enjoying a win and sticking your head in the sand about our issues, which is what so many who are "just enjoying the win because of how bad we've been lately" are doing. You can enjoy a win while also seeing the realities, and if you're a fan who can just enjoy those wins, more power to you.  But I'd prefer to see improvement over bad wins, and sure, I'd rather see wins and improvement in the same game, but if that's not an option, give me improvement in a loss over frustration in a win. I genuinely don't understand why that's a controversial take, as I'm literally rooting for the thing that will help us contend faster, even if that won't be very fast.
    • Yeah. Pretty obvious there. One thing I saw less of than normal (my perception) is the behind the LOS attempts.
    • The irony here is interesting You say the change won't happen overnight, so you're good with enjoying the wins despite not showing actual improvement. You're right, it's not going to change overnight, which is why so many of us are rooting for seeing improvement right now over bad wins right now, because you have to start somewhere if you ever hope to improve. Winning ugly doesn't help us in the future, but showing improvement would
