Martin possess excellent size at 6-1 and also has good ball skills and takes precise angles to the ball. However, some tightness in his hips along with inconsistency as an open-field tackler makes us believe this is a slight reach at this point. Martin is more suited to play safety in the NFL

I'm not liking this pick at the moment. If they drafted him to play corner I would have much rather went with Sean Smith. I would have also went with Gilbert at DT over Martin as well. If they did draft him to play safety the team either isn't a high as we thought on Godfrey or they have absolutely no confidence in the backups.

With all of that said I hated the Marshall pick at first as well and looking back it was a solid 2nd round pick so who knows.

Scout had him rated the 8th best corner and the 61st overall prospect. The only thing I can think is we might be thinking of moving Godfrey to his normal position of CB.

Side note the server too busy is getting annoying, I haven't been able to get on and post consistently since we traded and selected Brown.

He is a cover 2 CB for our Nickel Packages I guess.....

Well I don't know, it doesn't look like BPA here, more like a reach for a need...

They suck when they do that, I hope I am wrong....

The more I look at him, the more I think he was drafted specifically to be the nickel back (i.e. Richard Marshall II).

Having a corner/safety hybrid playing that role can be handy.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
