Would you fire Carl Carey?

Maybe they actually knew what was going on..... Perhaps there was a medical reason behind his poor play... Just say'n.

Yes, I think he should be fired but has long been a father figure to Pep so there's very little chance that actually happens. Carey may be peppers biggest problem right now.

Sometimes fathers and sons dont mix well in sports business. Good example is Roy Jones and Roy Jones Jr. Both are great apart. Carry needs to see what he has done and start to mend the fence so to speak with the Panthers.

I think he advised him wrongly. Told him not to sign the tender and that he would work out the deal. I also think Casey was behind the 4 team bit. He must have thought that would make it easier on him when infact it was just the opposite.

It has never been about the money. Carolina tried to lock him up last offseason. He was offered big bucks back then. And didn't sign.

Go Panthers

He has misled him right into 17m....

but he doesn't have 17m, he has 0. he won't have 17m until when/if he signs the tender. and by advising him not to sign it, Carey has led him into either sitting on his ass this season, or doing exactly what the Panthers want. he has no other options.

well, I'm a firm believer we don't know anything about what Peppers really wants and what has really occured.....so it is tough to say what kind of job he has done. Getting hearsay in the media doesn't really give us any insight to the truth of the situation.

Reed on Pep per an anonymous teammate:

http://www.carolinagrowl.com/Read.aspx?Story=1076

"With Pep, it wouldn't surprise me if he shows up and plays one year, if he signs a long term contract here or if he just up and said, 'OK, I'm going to retire,'" said that same Peppers' teammate. "Nothing would surprise me with him."

I agree. I said long ago if I could see any player just saying eff it and sitting out all season it's him.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
