Whos Your Favorite To Win # 2 Corner As Of Right Now And Other Upcoming Camp Battles

Recommended Posts

People are sleeping on one of our rookie DTs from last year....and I ain't talking about Fua or McClain.

Very true. Some may be overhyping Hogan but some aren't recognizing him either. Hogan hasnt had a good chance to show anything, but when he was out there he held his own. I think anyother criticism on him at this point doesnt really make sense(as far as what he did on the field is concerned).

For now I think Hogan will be #2CB.

Nakamura will be FS.

No clue about UT, but if I have to guess I'll say McClain.

Amini will start at Guard as well.

I also predict that FA90 will start at RE at the halfway mark of the season.

He is basically a rookie. Could some also be overhyping him? He needs time to develop....

Not really, he's had a full season of practice, just little game time. He'll know the playbook inside out and be up to NFL speed at this point. It was basically a redshirt year - I think he could have played if we were making a playoff push and were desperate, but the team wisely decided to be cautious with him.

He'll win the #2 job pretty comfortably I think.

Hogan is the guy, besides Gamble; Hogan is the most heady and intelligent corner we have. Now I do think that Norman may be the most athletic corner as I am probably the only one on this board that actually got to see him play live I will say that he is very athletic and makes some of the most acrobatic plays I have ever seen, but he just doesn't have the intangibles right now.

Hogan makes SMART plays. I don't know if you guys remember when Hogan jammed a wide out at the line and forced him out of bounds resulting in a penalty when that wide out came back in bounds and was the first one to touch the ball, well if you do; you know what I am talking about when I say smart and heady plays.

I think Butler and Munnerlyn will be given every chance to compete with Hogan but at the end of the day I just see them as top tier nickel backs in the league.

    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
