Some Don't Want Cam Scoring On The Ground ?

You seem to forget the massive hits where he got helicoptered on the goal line.

I saw him expect contact and get up laughing and smiling from those.

You seem to forget Brian Orakpo coming off the edge unblocked and sticking his helmet in Cam's spine, and Cam coming up wincing.

I love watching Cam run & he is truely a matchup nightmare for DCs, BUT...what is everyone going to say when Cam can't play QB b/c he took a huge hit on his right shoulder? Will you be the first 1 to stick up for the coaching staff to say it was a good decision?

We have so many weapons that it does not make sense for him to have to run, except when a play breaks down. Even tho exciting, I don't want him jumpng over a pile if Stewart, Williams or Tolbert can get it done.

Do you really want our team in the hands of Anderson or Clausen? Cam is big & strong, but no one is indestructable...don't test fate.

Part of the offense.

it won't be.going away, and yes, I'm alright with that.

Its just not viable for a quarterback to be a "runner" in the league. Mike Vick can do it but he's as rare as a good throw from Seneca Wallace.

Cam should take advantage of running opportunities and use his legs to help him, but he shouldn't make it a focal point of his game. The risks are not worth the rewards when he get the same rewards by focusing on his throwing technique and becoming a threat through the air.

Let the runs come. Believe me, they will.

Cam's ability, and threat to keep the ball in redzone is a big part of why the offense is so dangerous and explosive.

take that away and our offense becomes a lot easier to defend in the redzone.

Yep. It became unstoppable around midseason...

Take Cam out and run power formations with a RB....becomes a much easier O to stop

I understand people wanting him not to get hurt, but I don't understand people wanting to take away one of the things that makes him stand out from ALL other NFL QB's.

What makes him stand out from other QB's is he can throw like a MF'er, he's driven to win, and he can also be a great runner. It's all those things together.

Nobody wants to keep him from running or scoring TD's on the ground. However, it's a team sport and we have 3 other great running options for a reason. I'd just prefer for them to be the ones to take the brunt of the running load.

Cam is a better runner for for the NFL than Vick. Cam's rookie season was an example of that.....

He was one of the most efficient runners in all of the NFL. It made our offense what it was. His running not only sets up our offense but Cam's play in general.

If you want Cam to become a Peyton Manning we shouldn't of drafted him

While he is becoming more of a complete QB, let's not fool ourselves by saying he is a top 10 QB on passing skills alone, which you are almost suggesting and putting the running in the backseat. There is one aspect of his game that should never be limited, and it is what he decides to do with his feet in a split second or what our coaches think we can exploit on other defenses.

By him continuing to run he opens up opportunites for the RB's and the passing game in the RZ because the D will key on Cam. Take that away and our offense changes...dramitically.

Also between the 20's Cam is great about picking up chunks of yardage on the ground then diving before contact.

I am in disbelief that so many want to take away what makes Cam Newton such a unique QB. I am sure the coaching staff has talked with him about leaping into situations where he might get hurt. I don't think Cam would buy into not being apart of the running game.

I tell you what.. I will take 12 yrs and 3 or 4 Super Bowl titles over 16 yrs and tons of passing records.

I don't want Cam to be just a great passer but I want to see him as the most Dangerous QB ever to play the game.
