Relying on the fact that you believe that the State Supreme court will abolish the more draconian portions of the amendment is idiotic.

Fwiw, I didn't say they would abolish it. I said it would be litigated and more than likely many of the things that the law professors are worried about will not be considered the intent of the law. That's what the courts do, they interpret the constitution.

To call the portions of the amendment draconian is incorrect. The problem is not that it is draconian. That would imply that it creates a lot of rules and restrictions on many things, not just gay marriage. Indeed, the problem with it is just the opposite. It is to vague and there is a fear of the possibility that the courts might give it to broad of an interpretation.

Even the experts generally aren't sure how the courts would react, and many do think they will likely give it a narrow interpretation.

CO & AP reporting its passed. The bible belt influence still strong in the progressive city of Charlotte.

Not quite true. The amendments support was strongest in the rural counties. The majority of voters in urban areas voted against the amendment.
