Which Players Have The Most To Gain In Ota's

Recommended Posts

OTAs aren't really about showing coaches who is good or bad, it is to begin to install the offense and defense and work on scheme. I would think any player could improve their stock if they show they are picking things up quickly and know what they are supposed to be doing. I don't think this will mean much once the pads are put on though.

Jonathan Stewart: Stewart gets left out of the conversation sometimes when reporters and broadcasters talk about the Panthers explosive offense.

Jeff Otah: He has to work hard to beat out Byron Bell for the starting right tackle job.

Kealoha Pilares: We assume that we have a great threat at punt returner in Adams, now let's see if Pilares can become a great threat at kick returner and improve as a wide receiver.

Greg Hardy: Frank Alexander was brought in to give Hardy some competition, so it's time for Greg to seize the moment and prove his worth.

Terrell McClain: The coaching staff has faith in him so now it's time to show the fans why.

Thomas Davis: It's now or never for TD, let's see if he can stay injury free through the entire off-season. (More directed toward training camp and preseason than OTA's.)

Sherrod Martin: He's come under a lot of scrutiny the past two years, and now his job is on the line.

Brandon Hogan: Hogan is trying to prove he is the second best corner on this roster.

Justin Medlock: He finally gets another chance to get back on an NFL roster.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
