Jimmy Clausen: Two Questions

In all seriousness, he will likely remain the third string quarterback. No reason to bring someone else in when Jimmy knows the offense and the coaches know his capabilities and limits.

Cam will keep #1.

My prediction is that Clausen will serve as a decent backup on a team that does not often throw the ball deep. Matt Ryan is known for making short passes and has seemed to earn a good reputation as a QB, maybe Clausen will be a solid backup by will not start again in the league.

Cam has built a foundation with 1 in it right? It's part of his marketing now. No turning back. Would also cost him several million dollars. Ask Adrian Peterson. It's easier to change your Jersey number when NIKE/REEBOK don't have a massive inventory of them that have to be bought out.

and Jimmy will be here. You guys are seeing things through hate filled glasses. Let it go.

Am i the only one angry with all the Clausen bashing threads?

Same for Lafell bad jokes btw.

Jimmy Clausen is a Carolina Panthers QB for this reason he deserve a litle more respect.

The worst player in this team, is the 12th..

Our offense rocks, the defense is healed, the special team rebuild.

But the 12th man do not deserve a team like this yet..

GO PANTHERS!

Jimmy doesn't fit the offense..... Knowing it means little

I think they'll keep him and just not activate him on game days... I suppose there's a chance they'll find some other young guy that is worth developing that they could drop him for, but barring that, there's really no reason to not keep him.

I would be shocked if Cam switches numbers now... I mean #1 is who he is and is gonna be anyway.. :)

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
