A New Era For The Bobcats? Can It Happen Tonight?

He is the exception to the rule. If you remember he stayed in school for all 4 years even when he would have gone number 1 after his junior year. I heard on Monday that he wasn't going to seek free agency and wanted to retire a Spur. How many guys aspire to play for 1 franchise their whole career and retire for them even if they could make more money elsewhere??

He won't make more money anywhere else, so that point isn't valid. True, he's a rare player, but he can't make more money elsewhere.

Lebron could have left sooner than he did. He stayed in Cleveland from 2003 to 2010.

Why did he leave?? Because they didn't build a championship caliber team around him. Why not?? Didn't have the money to lure top players to surround him. Why?? Small market team.

The Bobcats are just a couple of lottery picks away from becoming a good team. Jordan just has to draft well like young teams like OKC and others did. I heard from a lot of people that they feel Brady Beal SG from Flordia will become the best player in this draft.

I'm not disagreeing with that point, I'm disagreeing with your comment that he left as soon as he could. He gave the Cav's front office a fair chance to surround him with a championship team.

Sure he can. If he left for New York years ago, he would be making millions more. Maybe not in his NBA contract but in endorsements alone. But he's satisfied where he is and in the organization, he doesn't need all of that.

I'll definitely be tuning in and hoping the B'cats get the #1 pick. The NBA is retarded for having a draft lottery. It serves no purpose except to keep the worst teams on the bottom.

Agree. it should be like the NFL. The worst team gets top pick and so forth down the line. The idea that the team that just missed the playoffs could get the top pick in the draft is stupid.....

How would you know given he has never tested the waters??

Because the NBA is set up so that the player's current team can make him the best offer. Seriously try to make just one valid comment. You look silly.

    • I see what you did there
    • Yeah the only way current set up is fun is if every year a different tiny school builds a super team and makes a run. You just need 1 rich guy to say you know what would be funny, if I drop 30 million and my school has a shot at a national championship.   They won't ever do it but put some sort of tiered salary cap in place and sign them to 4 year deals. You can only transfer up or down tiers no lateral moves because mean ole coach at texas doesn't play me enough so I'm going to Tennessee. So a player at prairie view can transfer to texas and get paid more or a player from UNC can transfer to UNCG because he isn't getting playing time. If a guy is transferring "up" he can get a salary bump if the team has salary cap space. A guy transferring down has to stay at the same salary as he signed his 4 year deal for so the lower tier team would have to have the cap space to sign him. It would stop the money chasing for lateral moves but allow guys who improve massively at lower schools to make more money as juniors and seniors and hopefully keep more guys in one place because the contract is for 4 years.
