First off, Peyton Manning didn't even play last year, so why is he so high on the list? and why are folks trying to act like Matt Stafford has been play great since he turned pro when we all know last season was his first full season of playing since he turned pro in 2009. Comeback kid??? Did he even play well his first season to be coming back from something? I swear I feel like I'm in the twilight zone when it comes to these talking heads and their well scripted BS.

Can we separate sentimentality from reality? Sadly, unlike the Peytons and Staffords who will be rewarded for simply showing up and having a decent year, Cam is going to have to always prove that he belongs..

I wonder where these folks will trying to place Luck next season if all he has is a decent year the way they are giving him so much rope to work with...SMDH

It isn't a ranking of last year...it is a ranking for 2012. Peyton Manning sleep walks to 10 win seasons. If Peyton plays, which is the assumption, he is better than almost everyone

But it's based on last season's performance. Peyton sleep walks to 10 wins with a team he has been playing with for how many years? And he's practically molded around him. I guess any QB can do that if given Peyton's rope to grow. Question is, will Cam be given that much rope or will he be kicked to the curb as soon as any sign of failure shows up?

And don't get me wrong, I love Peyton but I sometimes feel that there are certain QBs who are treated much more sentimentally than others.

IMO, any accomplishment Cam achieves is going to be open for debate and I don't see why when it's not like that with every QB.

2011 factors in.... so do other things. Andre Johnson and Peyton Manning are better than

most of their peers. If you are projecting 2012 you don't just spit out a 2011 end result as your projection

Stafford had a helluva year last year. The rankings are solely based on what each individual did in 2012.

I agree about Peyton, but I wouldn't take away anything from Stafford who went over 5,000 yards last year

So after last night I'm confused. They were saying in weeks prior that players voted based on last year's performance. Then Peyton Manning is #50 because his absence affected the Colts in 2011. Then last night it was said that the vote should be based on their potential play in 2012. Like, in the future. Huh??

I can predict that, in 20 years, no 2012 player will be playing in the NFL. :P
