he's like dwayne jarrett in a way, good enough to bring back every year just hasn't worked out yet. If he can't succeed with the guy who made gates a star then he just isn't cut out for the NFL. I think there is certainly potential there though.

He's nothing like Jarrett

He was a 5th round pick

John Fox does not use TEs and he was put on IR last season after an injury

When on the field he performs

Barnidge will be Carolina's offensive breakout player of 2012

lol that's a pretty big statement. He's always looked stiff to me but in a vertical passing attack that's not a huge weakness since he's snuck up field pretty well. He looked good on that screen in the 1st preseason game last year.

We have too much talent for Barnidge to put up much stats. But if by "breakout" you mean like around 300 yards a a few tds i can see that happening.

like my original statement said, just like Jarrett he's around every year but never works out. People talk about his potential but it never works out. The reasons things don't work out are different. But in the end the result is the same. Hopefully he stays healthy, gets "a fair shot", and achieves his "potential".

    • It's just a talking head.  Talking about gambling. If anybody takes the under on 4.5 wins, they're most likely losing their money.   So he's only saying if you want to bet on a possible sleeper, take the over.  It's not rocket science.  Pathetic that so many on the huddle have reduced themselves to posting purely trash every time they hit the submit button.
    • I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario.  Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless.  ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team.  The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.
    • We screwed up a couple years ago taking Bryce in the first place.  Nobody held a gun to our head to jump from #9 to #1.  Most people who keep up with draft news knew this 2024 QB class was loaded and we should have waited, which I advocated. It was a dumb move and I knew it.  Now we have to roll with Bryce another year.  That's fine, because this 2025 class isn't that great.  I like Ewers, but not super high on him.  If Bryce shows improvement, which I think he will, that should get him at least one more season before we have to decide on if he's the permanent answer or not.  I've said before, the 2026 draft is the next window for a franchise QB if Bryce isn't the answer. Bryce gets this year and next at a minimum.
