Panthers at Cardinals. Cam Newton's Debut.

Quote(all the code stuff doesn't work at my office)

Coaches who had been in pro football for decades had never seen anything like it. Players who had been in the NFL for years were served notice. NFL history surely hadn’t recorded the likes of Cam Newton’s professional debut, when he threw for 422 yards and scored three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).

I don't think any more of our games will be in the ranking. This one was because of a phenomenal first game, and smitty showing he still has it.

No one thinks of Panthers-Cardinals when they look back at the 2011 season.

Pisses me off that this team was a 10 win team, but instead was 6 win team.

considering where we were last year and tat it was under such a tough/short offseason, new coaching staff, rookie QB, and the number of injuries as well as easily correctable fixes on special teams with personnel, this makes me happy...it's just the beginning.

All those mentioned contributed to losing close games. Experience and health will contribute to winning those close games.

Vikes game we should have won, with those BS offensive holding calls and PI calls, and then the missed FG.

Cards game also, giving up a TD on ST,

Bears game, giving up a ST TD and then missing 2 FG's and we loss by 5,

Packers, was a total team meltdown, we had those fools on the ropes.

Falcons and Lions we had big leads and loss them.

We were a whole lot better than 6-10, hopefully we find a way to close out games, and with a better ST play, and a healthy DEF, I'm looking forward to us winning the DIV and making a playoff run.

Green Bay game should be up there as well. Man, what could have been if Smitty didn't fumble that ball trying to get an extra yard.

Man, I remember before the game, I was like, "I'm just hoping they can keep it within 30." This was the Super Bowl champions we were talking about with the best quarterback and offense in the game. Our rookie quarterback was entering only his second regular season game. Our stud linebacker went on IR.

Yet somehow, someway, we kept the score close throughout despite 3 interceptions by Cam and even had a 13 point lead at some point (should have been 21 - dumb redzone offense). I have no idea how we did it.

people also forget that just the week before the packers had beaten the Saints* 42 - 34. i thought there was no way we were going to be able to compete with that.

Guest Bwood

I was at that game. My first Panther game ever.

Even though we lost it was incredible and I didn't even know what to think the whole car ride home back to Cali except that we finally have a franchise QB.

    • It would depend on how we lost... If we lose a bunch of 17-13 . 20-7 type games where the defense plays well and offensively Bryce is sh***TING the bed...then he wouldn't get fired.  If we are losing 40-9, 38-14 type games..then yeah it's a possibility.   Couple that with our tough schedule.. if we show well in lets say half those games.. win either Seattle or New England game, at least 1 win vs division oponents.. he's good.  So imo.. to get fired he needs to : Loose badly against the top tier teams ie Blown out Show no progress offensively from last year. Show an unwillingness to bench Bryce again if he is horrible over multiple games ..  Get swept by the Saints again.
    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
