Gettis to PUP...explains trade for Murphy

Yep. Definitely an issue. Gettis hurt his knee before last season started.....other guys hurt there knees at the end of last year and are already back.

Maybe if you read into things instead of just being a negative little girl you would know that Gettis tweaked his hamstring and that is why they are going to give him some extra time to heal!

Yay!!! Nothing to do with his knee you idiot!

if Murphy can stay healthy, he could give LaFell problems as a starter, even assuming LaFell has the breakout year like Rivera expects.... I was expecting big things from Murphy last year, and considering his only true down year was caused by a few tweaks gives me hope about his future....

Can't forget about Lamont Bryant. I still feel like he could find his way onto the roster, and make a name for himself in a couple games this season.

BTW, WR Louis Murphy might not be ready for training camp after tweaking his hamstring last week working out.

Appears it was Murphy, not Gettis, who tweaked his Hamstring. Reading is fundamental for everyone, including me it seems.

Joe Person@josephperson

Panthers GM Marty Hurney says Gettis move to PUP is not a long-term deal. Tweaked his hamstring, Panthers didn't want to take any chances.

Umm.

My bad....I never look at Person because he usually only reports what others say. This one's on me. Made the edit on my previous post.

I dont know that I would phrase it as giving LaFell problems.I think the Panthers want a vertical threat and that is what they see in this guy.I still think LaFell will get the majority of the work at the number 2

Would be nice to see Murphy and LaFell end up as the outside receivers, with their size. Move Smitty to the slot and let him work underneath. Those are probably the top 3 run blocking WR's the team has as well.

If Gettis ends up healthy by the start of the season, I see him as the #4 guy...coming in on third and longs and going deep. He has a bunch of potential if he can get healthy but that's the nature of the NFL.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
