Anyone worried about the DTs?

For the moment I am going with Rivera's critique that our most compelling need is to get a better pass rush.He was not position specific when he said that.

Its pretty obvious that we need to upgrade several positions with a very limited amount of money.llet the coach decide the priorities. I think the more interesting question lies in what position or positions Rivera is referring to .He has stated that CJ needs to step it up a notch.

Well CJ does need to step up. 2010 shouldnt be his target ceiling....that should be his launching point. He was paid on what he would be unlike most Hurney deals....he has to be better

I'm going to go with the theory that a smarter, more communicative defense, that plays together and knows their roles, will be an improvement. My fingers are crossed that with no additional upgrade in talent, just more practice and return of starters will be help us make a few stops.

That might be all we need.......

The team defense will be better if it impoves two things:

1. Turnovers

2. 3rd down stops

The team would have won a few games on just one stop in those games.

The run defense did suck as we all saw last season and the linebackers were spotty to terrible, the secondary had huge gaps and Capin' was exposed by bigger WRs. If the defense impoves on those areas it will go to top 15 defense easy.

-linebackers healthy and improved..well sorta healthy

-Munnerlyn at Nickle

-DTs are more experienced and healthier

A huge thing is the major special teams improvements..that alone will win 2 more games this season IMO.

When Rivera says the DTs are fine he doesnt mean they will be Pro Bowl DTs just big fatties that take up blocks and hopefully push the middle a few times a game.

Looks like we have John Madden here.

Madden: I think the team that scores the most points will win this game.

and some people on here can not do simple math and realize that if you are born July 12, 1979 you are 33 years old.

So, I did not look up his birthday and see that he was 33 and not 32. Proves i am lazy...dows not change the fact that you are an idiot.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
