John Clayton's QB Rankings

Honestly I think alot of what Cam did was because of the system he's in.

The system the Panthers ran would be impossible without Cam.

both of these statements are accurate.

newton just wouldn't have been (as) successful in some other systems out there or in some situations and systems that he could have landed in. what we had with fox/davidson would have been horrible for him (not that foxy would have had the balls to start him unless forced to do so by management). it needed to be a system that was built around him for him to excel and reach his potential. he could have done ok in some other systems, but with his unique skill set the smart thing was to build a system around what he does, which is what is happening here.

sooo...yes, a lot of the success he had was because of the system, but this system would have been impossible to run without cam because it was built for him.

way to stick your neck out John.

John's definition of an "elite" qb = "An elite quarterback has the ability to throw for 4,000 yards, complete 60 percent of his passes and generate more than 20 points a game" Cam = 4051, 60% and team avg 18 ppg and ranks 15 and a "Pennington" while Ryan is at 4177, 61%, 18 ppg and is a top ten "Elite" qb. ????

How many would draft/start Ryan over Cam on the same team right now?

Herm Edtwats has Andy Dalton at like #6 and Cam around 20. Says Dalton will be a much better QB and he has a better team. I always thought herm was retarded. This confirms it

AND HE ALWAYS TALKS LIKE THIS!!!! Like he doesn't have on a fuging mic.

And lol at glassman Vick at 9.

It's largely fair. Cam needs to show more consistency in the second half of games, cut down on the INTs, and lead this team to the playoffs in order to be considered elite. In terms of potential he is top 5, but he still has a lot to prove. The reason why I think he will one day be elite is because he recognizes that he isn't and has a strong desire to be the greatest of all time. He already is in terms of QB rushing TDs in a season. That's a fact...one reason why I think there will be more to come.

Time will tell whether any of these rookies listed will be among the top 32 QBs in the league by season's end. Luck is the only one I think can be elite.

    • You don't have to go through every game and point it out as we are discussing his GWDs. You specifically called out that he had GWDs because he is the reason the team is always playing from behind. We looked at those eight games and only Miami stands out as one where he put the team in a hole to begin with. You've added the Atlanta game where the team didn't score a TD but only kicked field goals. You're not trying to change what we're discussing to fit your feelings re: Bryce. That's not necessary. We are discussing GWDs per the thread topic. We have also shown that your opinion that the team has had to always come back due to Bryce was proven to be false as was the claim that "minus one game" was his fault. Appealing to emotion afterwards by trying to broadly paint the rest of the losses in the same way just doesn't work. Where in the Hell did you get that the entire point is the suggestion that BY is more clutch than Jake and/or Cam? It's giving something to be positive about in that Bryce has shown the ability to comeback and win games despite the calamity that might have taken place to put them behind to begin with. How is that blasphemy?
    • His run blocking is making up for his negatives in pass blocking right now.  He’ll still have pass blocking hiccups, but if they think he’s a critical part to the locker room and team construction, you probably re-sign him and try not to overpay.
    • Callahan is gone McDaniel and Taylor are happening Stefanski is a growing possibility. I mean, they need to get an offense going eventually.  Could see Morris as a surprise one.
