this will sound crazy but trust me as a coach here. im glad we did NOT score before the half. go in tied, control the last quarter of the half.

but scoring a goal before half gives Mexico time to regroup and organize. score a few mins into the second half and total panic ensues.

watch what i say.

Great result. However I do wish that Klinsmann would stop playing this 4-2-3-1, with Gonzalez and Zusi on the wings, they don't have enough pace to really supply the ball to Altidore and Dempsey when he makes his runs. Would much rather see a 4-3-1-2, with Shea on the left and Bradley on the right. Let Jermaine Jones play the holding midfielder and put Dempsey in that attacking midfielder role. Then Jozy up to for his hold up play, and Eddie Johnson, Hercules Gomez or Terrance Boyd up top with him. That would keep the team playing respectable defense, with Jermaine Jones anchoring the midfield, and Bradley to help out if need be. Shea also spent the early part of his career as a left back, so when called to it he isn't a horrible defender either. It also allows us to maintain our width as Shea is a natural winger and Bradley can play wide if need be, but most likely linking up with Dempsey on attack.

Why did it seem like we were down 1 or 2 players the entite match. Are we that bad?

Its the formation Klinsmann was running, 2 holding midfielders makes it much harder to get the ball out of your own half if they other team is going to close down the ball. They were able to push 4 men forward for most of the match as a result of our 2 central midfielders playing so deep.

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
