CAROLINA at TAMPA

The Buccaneers run defense has been atrocious. Check out these numbers:

• 26 rush TD allowed in 2011 (Most in NFL). In the last five games they allowed 13 TDs on the ground.
  
• 79 runs of 10+ yards allowed in 2011 (Most in NFL)
  
• In the last 6 games, they allowed 37 runs of 10+ yards. San Francisco allowed 27 all season.
  
• This preseason, they allowed a league-worst 163.8 yards per game on the ground, 20 yards per game worse than any other team. This week they face Cam Newton whose 14 rush TD were second among all players in 2011 and DeAngelo Williams who has 9 total TD in 10 career games vs TB.

Meh, that's all insignificant if you ask me. New year, new regime, renewed hope...for now.

Yeah it's a new regime, but their preseason stats still are relavent to this year. Schiano is gonna have a tough time trying to play fox ball against us.

yeah...i was noticing that preseason stuff a couple hours ago and while i know it's just preseason....it's, well...like the quote said, atrocious.

if it wasn't for the fact that they sucked really bad last year, esp. in run D, i probably wouldn't put much stock in it. but i am.

and then, what did they add on defense? a CB and a safety.

sorry...i'm not buying that they did anything significant to help themselves at all. are they seriously any better defensively than they were last year? sure...people will look to schiano as a coach who's strength is defense...but can we put him in the same league with rivera and mcdermott? why and how? what has he proven in this league? he sure hasn't shown it in preseason.

last year we were better than them on offense and defense.

i have seen nothing that would indicate that they are better than us in either capacity.

people talking about the bucs now having a respectable defense but aren't giving the panthers more respect or at least the same are just being narrow-minded goats.

i didn't respect their defense last year. i have seen nothing that says they should be anymore respected.
