So much irony in yesterdays loss.

The biggest fears the huddle had collectively had nothing to do with our loss.

Secondary-The consensus was we may be in trouble here, because outside of Gamble everything else was a question mark at best. Well they actually did a damn good job compared to what we were all bracing for. Freeman finished with 138 yards on 24 pass attempts and his best receiver had less yards than our top 4. Thats right V-Jax had only 46 yards and Olsen had 56. Murphy and Lafell were in the 60's and Smith had over 100 on the day.

Run Defense- We kept them to 3.6 YPC and 0 touchdowns. Also had a nice goal line stance as well.

Interior pass rush/D-line as whole- Dwan got himself a sack and Hardy as well on the outside. Alexander batted down a couple passes as well at the LOS. The last 3 many expected production from on the D-line.

Special teams coverage- Aside from the mistake made by Munnerlyn, they did a great job at limiting returns and many were deathly afraid of that being an issue. I saw Onatulu show up on a few occasions and Rivera mentioned the newly traded for safety by name in his press conference.

The Buc's secondary- This was thought to be a strength of theirs but in reality was the least of our worries. Cam spread the ball around well and had 4 receiving threats get over 55 yards, in spite of the obvious fact that we were passing the ball on most downs and did not even attempt to hide it.

Then we were likely over confident in this area.

Our run game- Williams and Tolbert had 7 carries combined and we had 0 success with any of them. This was thought to be a place where we would dominate pre-game, even with Stewart being out, but no go. I don't personally blame Williams or Tolbert for this one, as not even Barry Sanders could have danced his way out of this shitty read option runs with 8-9 men collapsing on him with only 5 blocking.

That was a classic case of Fox Ball at its finest. They completely shocked the poo out of our coaching staff on the first drive and we had no answer for it until after half time.

They dominated the Time of possession and held onto the ball an entire quarter's worth more than they let us have it.

Our average starting field postion was on our own 21 and that includes the wasted return by Adams that had us on the buc's 41 yard line to start.

After the first half they played that conservative not to lose garbage most of us grew to hate under Fox's tenure here. Damn if didn't work too. They made 0 mistakes but did nothing worth a damn in the 2nd half on the offensive side of the ball.

I mean how the fug does any team hold the other to 10 rushing yards, completely own the time of possession, win the turnover battle 2-0, block a punt and only win by 6 points. Well thats the def. of Fox ball.

So kudos to the buc's for having a game plan and executing it as well as I have ever seen Fox ball done, nothing flashy but it got them the only stat that count's and thats a W.

So perhaps the most ironic thing of all about yesterdays loss was the better coaching staff. Yes we got out coached yesterday by a rookie head coach thats used to coaching college football in New Jersey. Of all the things nobody saw coming, this had to be the biggest single surprise of the day.

I just cant get past the fact that our o-line just faxed that freaking game in. We couldnt even see how good a run game we had because our line was giving up yards every snap. If they had not played foxball it would have been a blowout as bad as we inflicted on them last year.

3.6 yards a carry is a 1st down. We got hold opponents under 3 YPC...

That'd be one the NFL's best rushing defenses ever...

It's considered really freaking good to hold a back under 4.0 yards a carry. I think someone on here posted that the league average last year was 4.5 YPC.

Not sure if serious...

3.6 yard per carry would have us top 3 in the NFL. 3.5 led the league last year.

I stopped after going back to 2007 but 3.6 ypc allowed over the course of the season would put you in the top 3 over the last 5 seasons.

Well Im just a little upset that we got Foxballed and it beat us, even though I thought for the most part our DEF played really good, minus the 1st few drives in the 1st half, just didnt want to lose the BUCS......

The post-Fox syndrome has clouded people's judgement on it actually being a successful way to play in the NFL regardless of how pass oriented it is nowadays; or how much you want to be past those times and completely submerged in this power offense approach.

Our team was flat and not ready. I want to see some fire not that pussy sh*t again this season

    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
