.....if all there pickups work then yes..but thats a lot of ifs

from NFL chat

Warren Sapp, NFL Network

I like their offense, but you can tell me that an offensive-driven team in Tampa wins a championship. They have a championship caliber offense, now they got to get their defense back on that level.

Antonio Bryant, Kellen Winslow Jr., Cadillac Williams, Derrick Ward in the backfield. Who just won the Super Bowl? Name one offensive lineman on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It isn't the names, it's the cameraderie. Stop being a fan, might want to learn something. I actually went to the facility. I don't read the newspapers

what's funny is that this guy was just saying the other day that all that should be expected from winslow is problems for the bucs.

antonio bryant...how long before he gets in trouble again?

cadillac williams? i'm really terrified of those 2 games he'll be playing next year before his knee explodes.

ward...what we saw that one game was not something that we will see again. the only reason that he was picked up was because of that game.

not sure if you realize this or not but prior top that game he had only broken 100 yards twice? and it wasn't for lack of carries, either. he gets quite a bit of carries (usually double digit) for being 2nd string but he rarely is able to do much with it. last year was the first year since being drafted in 2004 that he played a whole season. i just don't see him as being a real threat. that game in week 15 was just an ugly aberration. it won't happen again.

Leftwich will be good, but not great....Freeman will be a bust, and that D is donezo.....did they really get rid of Derrick Brooks?????

But yeah, Caddy is runnin on a single wheel, Derek Ward isn't the answer.....do they still have Graham....he seems to play well against us....Bryant is a beast thoigh, i will never forget the way he manhandled Ken Lucas in that MNF game....also will never forget that one handed catch he made in the back of the endzone....

Either way, there is no chance they will even beat us once this season..yet alone win a Super Bowl....too many questions on OLine and behind bryant, who else do they have

    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
