Moose on Sirius this afternoon..

Recommended Posts

Said he expects us to be better than we were last year. He predicted us to win 11 games last year and he's guessing we'll win more than that this year. Credits this to the fact that most of our team is still intact from last year, another year together for Double Trouble, etc. and says Ryne Robinson coming back should help the special teams take it up a notch.

On Pep - Doesn't know whats up, though thinks he'll be back (as most of us do at this point) and said that everyone would gladly welcome him back if he returns.

Other than that, they talked about Indy's latest news with their coaches leaving and Cutler to the Bears. Nothing riveting, just nice to hear Moose's take on the current status of the team.

I have yet to understand why everyone is so scared of our schedule....we are one of the better teams in the league, and all the teams who have to play us this year are looking at that game knowing that its going to be hard to win.

it doesnt matter how many fans think this will be bad year because of our schedule, as long as the rest of the team has the same confidence moose does im very confident we will be back in the playoffs this year

so confidence is all it takes to get to the playoffs

have u ever heard of a team bein successful if they walk on the field thinking they was gonna lose? i dont think there's any doubt in anyone's mind that the talent is there but if they took one look at the schedule and automatically assumed they wouldn't make the playoffs like half the fans have done theres no way they would be successful

glad you said that because everyone sure is saying that is all they need. you should probably tell moose that as well. he probably could stand to have his head set straight. whew...thanks or being the voice of reason! not sure where we'd be without your insight! ;)

Seems like one characteristic of the Panthers under Fox is we always play down to the competition. Make games closer than they need to be. Its always going to be this way with Foxology. You take away a couple big plays last year and we were an 8-8 team and thats how we looked in the playoffs....

I've said this many times, this team knows how good it is... and if you expect our team to not be confident, you're pretty much a fool. =) And if you think "confidence is all you need to get to the playoffs", well, way to be a tool and totally not get what was meant.

Watch out fans... you may actually get to stand and cheer for your team this year.

(imagine that?)

    • That's true. I did actually mean the FO but that's a fair point.
    • A guy like Jones at average pay is going to not work out IMO. The 20 million difference to spend elsewhere is too large of a hurdle when the QB plays good but not carry the team good. They are in the sweet spot currently at cost to value with him. Darnold is pretty much the same. Good in a limited role but lean on him and he will fold. Tua didn't beat good teams when it had to be on his back to be the difference, and that was true when his team was stacked. All of Murray's talent has resulted in 1 winning season for them and 1 wildcard loss. The NFL has an overpaying mediocre QB issue. At the right price it's not an issue but can be a positive. It inevitably leads to a worse roster which becomes a poo show. NY gave up their RB because they paid Jones and proved that. The first is most likely leading to the second. Baker is bucking that trend but he was always the best of any of that group, even if his time here was pretty much the worst setup possible.
    • If you only factor passing, there is a VERY mild argument Dalton is more efficient but it's ignoring the threat Cam was as a big play literally every snap. With his feet OR through the air. Dalton was never that type of player. I would say Dalton over 200 is a very safe bet.
